Western wear- it’s not just for cowboys anymore.Western wear for women is becoming incredibly popular and celebrities from Kate Middelton to Jennifer Aniston can be seen looking stylish in western shirts, jeans and boots. Sure maybe chaps and dusters aren’t your thing- but clothing with a bit of western flair is now fun and fashionable. Clothing and accessories with fringe, studs, or suede can add subtle western touches.
Want the perfect western look? You have to start with the perfect pair of jeans. A great pair to try? They’re called Miss Me jeans and you can find them at Cavenders.com in a variety of washes, styles and sizes. Miss Me jeans are known for their embellished styles that are both edgy and sexy. You can dress them up with your favorite bag, jewelry and heels and spend a night out on the town with your special someone or simply throw on a casual t-shirt and flats and spend the afternoon running errands.
Boots are made for walking but girly cowboy boots are made for that and so much more. They are a must in every fall wardrobe. Throw on a pair of bright red boots with a cute black dress and you will be sure to turn heads when you walk in the door. They also make western “booties” that are short on length but long on style with detailed metal embellishments, swinging tassels and studs. These western “booties” would pair up great with just about any pair of the fashionable Miss Me jeans.
The plaid shirt or cowgirl shirt made a comeback a few years ago, and is now everywhere. They are in practically every store on every corner and are another great option to wear with skinny, boot cut or wide leg jeans. Plaid western shirts can be found in a variety of colors and just about any retail clothing store and in price ranges to fit just about anyone’s budget.
Don’t forget to accessorize! Complete your look with a leather wrap stone bracelet or a western leather handbag with hand tooling detail and silver stud accents.
Whether you opt for subtle touches or go western head to toe- give the western look a try sometime to switch up your wardrobe. And now, ladies, I leave you with this sound piece of advice- don’t squat with your spurs on.
I always love the Western look. Some how when I try it, it doesnt work as well on me. I keep tring though. I am on the hunt for a good pair of “real” boots, that arn’t to costly.
Roozerdo, I’m on the hunt for some great boots too. Hook a girl up, if you find them! 😉

I’ve heard of Miss Me jeans. Apparently, they are pretty popular right now. If I could, I’d live in jeans. I don’t really have a reason to buy another pair, but I think I’ll check them out anyway!

As for the plaid shirts, I can tell you that they are super hot right now. My 21-year-old has half a dozen (at least). When I was at Old Navy last weekend, they had a whole wall devoted to them. I don’t love them on myself, but they can look super cute when paired with the right accessories.

Great article, Samantha!
Great article – you’ve inspired me to hunt for some semi-authentic Western boots!
Great article! Western wear really is for everyone. There are so many styles to mix and match to create your own style whether that be traditional western or a more modern western flair. You can never go wrong with a pair of boots!
I love the boots the girls are wearing these days. The western flair is so pretty. Sh! Don’t tell, but someone in m family may get a pair of the fringed Minnetonka ankle high boots this year. Minnetonkas are pure comfort!
Thanks for this information. I’ve been looking around for something like this for a while, and you just handed it to me gift wrapped. Can’t wait to see your next post.
