Two Lies and a Truth

By Pam@IW

By Lily

A few months ago, we had a lot of fun playing the icebreaker game – Two Truths and a Lie.  So, let’s Do it Again!

We’ll switch it around this time and do Two Lies and a Truth.

In any order and without revealing which are false/true give two false statements and one true statement about yourself.

Keep checking back to see if others are guessing your truth and to guess for other posters.

Here’s mine to get everyone started.
—

I own the very first issue of MAD magazine (in near mint condition).

I was one of those kids who was forced to play accordion.

I have gone to all my high school reunions.

I was in a play called Death the Musical
I was a teen ambassador to speak about Racism in our school system(canada)
I came in first at my very first downhill ski race when I was 14 years old

I guess we shouldn’t post the answers for awhile?

    OK

I ran track in high school.

I have visited every state in the continental United States.

I have never received a traffic ticket.

hmmm, I know it’s too early to reveal, but I’m already curious.  🙂

I was an extra in a oscar-nominated movie.

I sang for the entire crowd at a national league baseball game.

I was interviewed by Katie Couric when she was on the Today Show.

    Hmmm, Nancy,
    Those are three interesting options.

    I’m going to guess.

Darlene, Your truth is you were in a play call the Death The Musical.

Pam, Your truth is you never got a traffic ticket.

Nancy, Your truth is you sang for the entire crowd at a national league baseball game.

Lily, I think lies are harder to come up with!  That and I have lived such a boooorrrriiiinnngggg life.

    OK, here are mine:

    I’ve talked with Rush Limbaugh.
    I’ve talked with Jon Gosselin.
    I’ve talked with the Pope.

Lily, I’m going to guess:I was one of those kids who was forced to play accordion.
Pam:I have never received a traffic ticket.
Nancy:I was an extra in a oscar-nominated movie.

Those are my guesses.  I’ll wait awhile to tell my truth!!

Lily, I agree that Pam would NEVER get a speeding ticket, Nancy would DEFINITELY sing for the crowd at a NL baseball game, but I think of Darlene as a teen ambassador.  She’s so diplomatic by nature.  🙂

  13. Darlene says

    April 1, 2010 at 9:28 am

Ann my guess for you is:I’ve talked with the Pope.

  14. Nancy@IW says

    Darlene was a teen ambassador.
    Pam never had a ticket.
    Ann talked to Rush.

Darlene, you are right.  I was one of those kids forced to play the accordion, from about 7-11 when my parents got tired of hearing me complain.  I was so embarrassed in HS that someone would find out.  🙂

  16. Darlene says

    April 1, 2010 at 1:16 pm

Lily you were right.  My truth was I was in a play called Death the Musical.  I did speak at a school about Racism but never a Teen Ambassador.

  17. Ann says

    April 1, 2010 at 1:34 pm

Lily, I missed yours!  I am sitting here searching and searching… there they are in the post!  How did I miss that?

I can’t believe you play the accordion.  Ugh!  They are such LOUD instruments, even when they are played well.

Well, I was wrong about you, Darlene.  But “teen ambassador on racism in Canada” sounds so right.  I must say, you are an inventive liar!  😉

I think I scored low the last time we played this.

I will not reveal for a few more days.

  18. Nancy@IW says

    April 1, 2010 at 1:46 pm

Lily – I missed yours, too. My mom played the accordion! LOL!

Darn, I was wrong about Darlene, too! Ugh. I’m not good at this.

Ann – I’m going to hold out, too.

I was an extra in a oscar-nominated movie is a lie, however I have a friend who was an advisor in the movie “up in the air” which was filmed in my hometown.

I sang for the entire crowd at a national league baseball game is true! In front of 30,000+ people in 1996, my friend Mary and I stood on top of the visitors’ dugout at Busch Stadium and sang the theme song from Laverne & Shirly — “we’re gonna do it our way, yes our way, making our dreams come true…..”

I was interviewed by Katie Couric when she was on the Today Show is a lie, but I did shake her hand when she came out to greet the crowd outside of the studio many years ago! Also met Al!

My truth is that I ran track in high school.

I have had one traffic ticket in my lifetime and that was for going through a yellow/ red light at an intersection. I have been to almost every state in the United States but still need to hit a few in the south.

  21. Pam@IW says

    April 8, 2010 at 12:42 am

I think everyone has revealed their truth except for Ann so for Ann I guess that her truth is that she talked to the Pope.

Oh, this game is so fun!

I don’t post here enough to have any friends, so my two lies and a truth will be more random…

    1)  I love my height and weight, and look better than I ever have.

    2)  I am constantly miskaken for a famous model or actress.

    3)  I am happy that my vision has deterioted to the point where I still think I look pretty good in dim lighting.

This one’s not too tricky to figure out!

  23. Pam@IW says

    June 10, 2010 at 1:56 pm

I would guess that number 3 is the truth, Happy Mom.     But I am hoping that number 1 and number 2 are.

LOL happy.mom, I love your answers. Which actress?   😉 😉
