1. Totally Ga Ga: The Baby Food Diet
Lady Gaga is famous for being a bit potty, but who would’ve thought she’d try to imitate an infant? To slim down for her music videos, the quirky pop princess lives off 14 jars of baby food a day. As they’re supposed to fill smaller, less developed tummies, baby food is super-low fat and contains a myriad of minerals and vitamins.
2. Hospital Help: The IV Diet
No eating is required for the Intravenous (IV) Diet, which basically involves hooking yourself up to a bag full of liquid vitamins. Fondly referred to as ‘banana bags,’ the yellow tinged miracle drips were originally designed to re-fuel alcoholics suffering from malnourishment. So far, no Hollywood celebrity has actually admitted to using this diet trick. I wonder why.
3. Fishy Facelifts: The Perricone Diet
If you fancy a facelift without breaking the bank, just chow down copious amounts of fish. Famous faces including J. Lo, Bruce Willis and Sex and the City cougar Kim Cattrall are huge fans of The Perricone Diet, which involves eating salmon three times a day. Hardcore fish fans can try the 28 day programme, which promises to banish saggy skin and smooth out wrinkles.
4. Sweet Nothings: The Air Diet
How about a delicious bowl of well, nothing? Favoured by the queen of reinvention, Madonna, the Air Diet involves making yourself some food and then resisting the urge to eat it. Ideal for those with a taste for torture!
5. Sugar ‘n’ Spice: The maple syrup and cayenne pepper diet
If you can’t quite choose between spicy and sweet, treat your taste buds to the maple syrup and cayenne pepper diet. Beyoncé famously shed the pounds for her role in Dreamgirls by sipping a nasty sounding cocktail of maple syrup, pepper and water for a whole 10 days. You might lose weight, but there’s no guarantee you’ll be Crazy in Love doing this diet.
6. Caffeine Cravings: Red Bull Diet
Starry-eyed socialite Paris Hilton supposedly maintains her stick thin figure with a ‘healthy’ combination of Red Bull, water and ADD medication. Water is well known for flushing out unwanted toxins, while Red Bull contains lots of caffeine to speed up your metabolism. ADD drug Adderall is a powerful concoction of amphetamine stimulants with side-effects including appetite suppression.
7. Salty Smoothies: The algae and seaweed diet
Supposedly chugging down two pints of this sickly smoothie a day keeps Victoria Beckham in top shape. Far from just being food for the fishes, algae and seaweed are jam-packed full of nutrients that help keep the weight off and the size six jeans well and truly on.
8. Pure Indulgence: The Cookie Diet
Famous faces including Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian and Guy Ritchie just can’t get enough of Dr. Siegal’s 90 calorie cookies. If you simply can’t control your cravings, you’d be mad to turn down the Cookie Diet, which lets you chomp on up to six cookies a day. The sweet treats are specially formulated to control your appetite, but more importantly, they come in chocolate and blueberry flavours.
9. Citrus Cleanse: The Grapefruit Diet
Favoured by pint-sized pop star Kylie Minogue, the Grapefruit Diet simply involves munching half a grapefruit before every meal. Dating back to the 1930s, this diet helps you lose weight the old fashioned way. By cutting calories and relying on the grapefruit’s insulin regulating properties, the pounds are bound to slip off in no time.
10. Wet Wonders: Cabbage Soup Diet
If you can’t stand your greens, you won’t be doing this diet anytime soon. Celebrities Sarah Michelle Gellar and Liz Hurley swear by the Cabbage Soup Diet, which involves slurping down a limp mixture of tomato juice, onions and cabbage instead of indulging in normal, solid food.

Ewwww The grapefruit diet sounds the best. When I was much younger (jr. high) I ate a grapefruit every night. I peeled it and ate it. LOVED IT. I’m not sure about the weight loss effects…those were the days when if I wanted to lose weight, I skipped meal and the weight dropped off. Oh……I wish that were so these days. I am going to try Sensa. I used some the other day (it was my Mom’s) and I was eating, then all the sudden I felt super stuffed……and I mean Thanksgiving stuffed. So I went home and ordered some. I’ll try it……
Dam when are they going to come up with the cheese cake and lasagna diet?
Hehehe Pattypie……I think the same time they perfect the mexican food/margarita diet….the next thing will be the cheesecake and lasagna diet….still in the planning stages…..hehehe
What on earth are cayenne pepper and maple syrup supposed to do for you? Makes me lose my appetite thinking about. Blech blech.

If I had to pick, I would pick the cookie diet. 🙂 At least Lady Ga Ga’s is healthy food.
I like the air diet. Cook and then not it. Yeah right!
The air diet is just dumb! Some of these diets are really dangerous. Some of them sound halfway decent. I could go for the Perricone diet – I love salmon and it always fills me up. The baby food diet doesn’t sound that bad, for a few days anyway.
.
The Red Bull diet sounds like the stupid type of diet I would go on when I was younger!
I was hoping for a choc chip diet. Just a nice little handful a day.
Pattypie—I’m with you!!!
