Juil footwear is not your typical shoe. The sandals and flats made by this company have special copper “dots” through the toes and the heels to help balance you and connect you to the earth. The technology involved in these shoes is definitely unique, and I was excited to give a pair a try ( you can read more about it here)!

Juil offers beautiful sandals and flats. I chose a pair of the Wing Tip flats because they seemed very versatile and beautiful.

Juil Footwear Review

I was initially very impressed with the quality of the shoes and the packaging. The shoes not only came in a very sturdy, pull out box, but also came with a dust bag for storage. The suede, leather, and copper “dots” all seem to be very high quality.

Because these shoes are made from nice leather and the scrunched shape of the shoe, they took a while to break in. For a couple days, I wore the flats around my dorm for only a couple hours at a time, as Juil suggests. I also wore them with thick socks a couple times to really help them stretch out and soften.

Juil Footwear Review

Once the flats were more comfortable to wear, I took them for a spin outside. The feeling of these shoes is definitely different. The copper “dots” on the toes are not as noticeable as the one on the heel. At first, I didn’t really like the feeling. I was very aware of the metal in the heel and just didn’t like the sensation. I wanted to give the shoes another shot though, so I wore them again the next day. They felt completely different and I am definitely getting used to them. They feel a lot more comfortable, and I do understand how they “connect you to the earth.” You are more aware of the type of surface you are walking on, and I even think I may be standing a little straighter wearing these shoes. The flats also hug your feet when you put them on and I really like that feeling.

Juil Footwear Review

Overall, I think these shoes are very unique. They are extremely nice quality and really beautiful. They do take some time to break in and get used to, but I am glad I took the time to do it.

Not sure I could get used to those dots but they do look comfortable. I would have to check out their return policy since I have trouble getting shoes to fit correctly–other then that I would give these a try.

This is my first time hearing about Juil footwear and their copper “dots”. But what a great idea to help you be aware how and where you walk. Plus the shoes are pretty

I had heard of these and wondered if they work. They look comfy and are really cute. I am surprised the piece in the heel does not bother you when you walk.

Those shoes are adorable! I like how they hug your feet too but am unsure about the metal piece in the heel. It kind of looks uncomfortable.

These look like they would be super comfortable once you’ve broken them in! I work in a school so need comfortable shoes that are dressier than sneakers. These would be perfect.

Those are really cute. I’m interested in this line as I can’t wear a heel. I wonder about the pressure of the copper dots. Something, you’d just have to try out, I guess. I’m glad you gave them another shot, I can see where you’d have to get use to it. Thanks for the review!

I am intrigued by the concept too and will check out the website. I do notice that the shoes seem to fit really well on Jo. As I get older, I realize the importance of spending a bit more for quality foot wear. It really makes a difference. Thanks for the introduction!
