If you love cheesy potatoes and you love sausage, you will love this dish. What is great about this dish is that it is not the side dish, but the main entree! If your short on time and don’t want to spend the extra time it takes to make and bake both the main dish and the side dish, then this is for you.
Another great thing about this dish is that you can buy the smoked sausage, cheese and the potatoes and keep them in your fridge for a decent amount of time before they need to be used. This allows you to enjoy this as a go to meal on those nights when you are low on groceries and can’t get to the store. Both the smoked sausage and potatoes are both fairy inexpensive and make for a reasonably priced meal.
Your kids will especially love this meal. Enjoy!

I love finding new recipes on blogs. I’m going to try on casserole soon.
That looks really yummy! Hoping we’ll be able to start having some dishes like this again since I discovered Daiya lactose free, soy free cheddar cheese blocks! We’d only seen a mozarrella cheese before that and some things that won’t work instead of cheddar. Dietary restrictions are tough sometimes but it really seems to help with my son’s eczema so we keep it pretty tight.
My daughter has dietary restrictions as well, and they can be so tough! It’s great that you have found a way to enjoy recipes like this again, because this looks delicious!
Oh my those looks so good. dang i’m hungry now

Since I am not having Thanksgiving at my house this year, I am looking for make and take recipes that are easy and travel well. This, I know will travel very well and everyone will eat it up.
I do love both, so I bet I would love this recipe. Cheese is my staple food, if there is cheese in something I am going to love it. Add in potatoes, and sausage and I am in heaven.
My family is definitely a meat and potatoes type of family, I will definitely be giving this a try. It sounds really good. Thanks.

This looks Delicious!! I will have to make it sometime. 🙂
This looks wonderful! I want to make this for dinner tomorrow, but I’m a bit confused about one thing, where are the sausages supposed to be layered in? I’ve read the recipe several times, and I see the sausage listed in the ingredients, but not where they should be layered in the dish. I’m sure I can improvise though. My fiancée and I don’t like onions so I’ll probably use green bell peppers instead. Can’t wait to see how this turns out!!
Sorry about that…the sausage just gets layered in with the potatoes and onions. Green bell peppers sounds great too!
We just had cheesey au gratin potatoes for supper with our pork chops. We make them alot but this is one I will surely make for us. thanks for the recipe.
I like this recipe and will make it soon. The editor in me doesn’t like the apostrophes in your use of “potato’s”.
I have never made this recipe before and now I must try it. It looks delicious. My family would love it!
It sounds very heavy. I can’t tolerate food hat’s heavy or greasy.
