It’s summertime and many will be heading to the zoo for some R&R family time. Whether you are traveling far for a one day visit or a local passholder who frequents the zoo often, everyone has a favorite animal they can’t wait to see.
Tell us whether you’re a polar bear or crocodile person. Or, maybe you’re both. What animals do you have the most fun watching or find the most interesting?

I haven’t been to the zoo in a couple of years. Once the kids get older… they don’t want to go any longer. But now, with Grandkids, it is time to make a zoo trip.
I personally like the monkeys. They can sure do some crazy, gross things.
WE always head for the Tigers-my son also love ET-our zoo’s blind Walrus!
We are fortunate enough to live a mile away from our zoo and have zoo passes – we are there a lot!
I love going to the zoo! It is always fun and different. The only problem with the one in my town is it is extremely expensive. It is better to buy a yearly pass than to pay for 5 people.
Love this…. my kids love the lions and tigers. One day we went right at feeding time and it was cool to see the male lion letting out these loud roars to let everyone know he was ready to eat!
Gosh I haven’t been to a zoo in years, I love seeing all the animals but the first thing that came to mind was penguins lol xx
I love Zoo’s!! I’m hoping that we get to visit one soon!
The zoo here is way too expensive, but we can go to the local Congo River to see alligators..
I haven’t been to a zoo in AGES! I really want to go to the one in Omaha
The gorillas are my favorite. The mothers with their young ones are so fun to watch. Orangutans are a close second.
I was usually a season pass holder until I moved to the country several yrs ago. Now, it’s a bit of a drive. It was a great place to spend the day. @Shauna, so fun to catch them at feeding time. I think it’s cool when you’re in another part of the park and you hear the lion’s roar out of nowhere.
I always liked the birds best. Love the colors and different sounds!
We had a friend who worked at the zoo. Her job was mainly working at the lion house. We were at the zoo one afternoon and ran into her. She took us (hubby and I, plus the kids) on a mini tour of the lion house.
The female lion that was out in the habitat was stalking my son (he was only 3 or 4 at the time) while we were walking up to the building. You could tell she wanted to eat him. The zoo has some lion cubs at the time. They just wanted to play! Our friend had helped raise those cubs from birth since the mom abandoned them. She couldn’t play with them anymore because they didn’t know their own strength.
You haven’t been scared until you’re in a closed space with lion, while he roars. It rattles you to the bone! I will never, ever forget that experience!
We love the big cats – there is something regal about them and the kids love them – their size is impressive but so is their beauty
We love going to the zoo. We are lucky we live by a lot of awesome zoo’s. Our favorite is the SF Zoo. My son is just old enough to actually enjoy it too. My favorite parts of this zoo are getting close the giraffes and the penguin island. Plus the weather is always mild and thats nice.
I chose other. I love the giraffes. My daughter went through a several-year’s phase of loving giraffes and we went out of our way to see them. I always teased that my daughter loved giraffes because she was also tall and slim, had freckles sort of like reticulated spots, big round eyes and lovely lashes. She had so many stuffed/play giraffes and often played “zoo” at our house. I love them because they gave her so much pleasure.
I like the flamingos and polar bears the best.
If not overruled, I like the elephants best. But somehow I usually get dragged to the reptile house…
I love the Zoo, been years since I’ve been to one
oh what lovely, in my country we dont have so many animals like; giraffe, elephant or others animals that you can see on television, but I wish that one day i could see this fantastic animals.
