Pecan Pie can be the highlight of the holiday dessert table for many. You can get creative and instead of using pie crust, use puff pasty as your base! These Pecan Pastry Pie Puffs are just as tasty as Pecan Pie and actually easier than whipping up a traditional pie.
I use Puff Pastry Cups. Pepperidge Farm makes them and they are fabulous to work with. They rise into light, flaky pastry cups ready for you to put your delicious filling in. They are so easy and convenient and are the perfect size for desserts like this or appetizers. You can find them in the freezer section.
Pecan Pastry Pie Puffs
Place Puff Pastry Cups on nonstick baking sheet or parchment paper. Cook 5 minutes short of package directions, 15 minutes.
While the pastry is cooking, in a medium bowl whisk together the Brown Sugar, Butter, Egg, Corn Syrup Vanilla and Cinnamon.
Stir in the pecans
Remove the pastry and push down the centers with the handle of a wooden spoon.
Reduce oven to 350˚.
Carefully spoon about a teaspoon of the pecan mixture into each pastry cup, the pecans should be sticking out of the top slightly.
Bake at 350˚ until cooked through and set, 9-12 minutes.
Remove and let cool before serving.
Store leftovers in an airtight container.
This is a dessert that you can serve for Thanksgiving, Christmas or any holiday party in between. Enjoy!
