I must say it has been an incredibly busy past few weeks. I did two family photo shoots, photographed a military spouse event, and also photographed a baptism. The boys also did another modeling gig and Tyler was featured in the advertisement for that week. Anthony has been working a ton of overtime: gets home at 5:30 pm, eats dinner, works another few hours at home, and then it’s time for bed.
The boys have become monkey ninja warriors! They are so incredibly strong and climb on everything! Things that you wouldn’t even think were climbable! Almost every day that Anthony hasn’t been working once he gets home, he has been building or modifying things we have already built or “baby-proofed.”
In this photo, you will see that we had to install panels on the changing table because we knew they would try to climb on top, which I thought would at least be a few more months. We had to tape up the pipe on their activity board because they would try to climb on top. We raised the couch eight inches, hoping that they wouldn’t be able to climb on top of the couch, which, for the most part, ended up being pointless because they can still climb up if they really try. So, you will see that we have the couch covered in pillows so they can’t get on it.
We also had to build a barrier that sits underneath the television to keep them from climbing on top of the entertainment center. We had to put panels in the bottom cubbyholes of the entertainment center towers. They would climb inside them and turn around and not be able to get back out. They also discovered how to remove the “baby-proof” electrical outlet covers. So, we ended up covering them with fabric. We’ve also had to rearrange both of the couches because they have managed to climb over the backs of them, which are like three feet tall.
On top of everything that has been going on, I managed to get a part-time job! I really hadn’t planned on going back to work any time soon, but I periodically look at Craiglist just to see if there is something that would be worth applying for. I went in for the interview and was offered the job on the spot. I’m only working eight to twelve hours a week, which isn’t too many, and my boss is really flexible with my hours and days. It seems to be an ideal situation, so we will see how it works out.
The boys have been growing like crazy and have been becoming so vocal with one another. They still don’t say many words, so it’s mainly their own little babble twin talk. I can’t believe they are going to be two years old in a few more months! Where did the time go? It is so much fun watching them grow and seeing how quickly they learn new things each week.
