Imagine this scenario: You are in your favorite coffee shop one morning, minding your own business, grabbing your favorite cup of joe, when a fight breaks out between two patrons. A careless man has accidentally spilled a coffee in a woman’s computer, and the woman goes crazy! (I guess she didn’t back up her data on the cloud.) Yikes! In a scene right out of a horror movie, the woman doesn’t lay a finger on the man, but he is tossed across the room and half way up the wall! Horrified customers bolt for the door! The woman continues screaming as pictures fly off the wall, tables move without being touched, and books flip off the shelves. OMG! Call Ghostbusters!
Relax. Turns out it was just some film maker pranksters having some fun promoting the remake of the Steven King classic “Carrie”. Whew! Of course all the terrifying fun was captured and posted up on Youtube. It’s an elaborate stunt that including building a fake wall and hiring actors to play the roles. The reactions of the customers are authentic and hilarious. Well, hilarious if you weren’t there minding your own business, ordering a muffin to go with your non-fat latte. All I can say is it’s luckily for the coffee shop patrons the pranksters didn’t include the iconic “bucket o’ pig’s blood” scene from the movie. I hope the terrorized coffee drinkers got their morning coffee for free!
Happy Halloween
Knowing that it was a setup, it was funny to watch the unsuspecting customers reactions! I know, had I been one of those customers, I wouldn’t have found it quite so funny!
That’s terrible and hilarious at the same time. Youtube has certainly changed the marketing world.
That’s so funny! Can you imagine how scared the customers probably were?!
I don’t know what I would do if that happened to me! I’m sure the people in on it had a lot of fun though! lol
LOL! i was thinking, whoa, and this wasn’t on the national news stations?
I love the construction guy in the yellow hat with the pipe. I was waiting for him to do something. LOL.
Can’t you imagine being there to see this? Look at all those customers backing up to get out of there. That is funny, but happy I wasn’t there to see it.
I can’t imagine how I would react if I was in that room! But speaking of Carrie, I really like the original with Sissy Spacek and have seen it a few times. I’m curious to see what they do with this one.
I think I would have been FROZEN–not able to move! That was really kind of dangerous-what if one of the people got so scared they had a REAL heart attack! I hope there was someone standing outside telling people it was only a stunt!!
Hahahaha. I can NOT believe they remade this movie. I saw a preview for it recently and I leaned over to my husband and told him I refused to go see it because I loved the original so much.
That would have been so fun to see – though I may have been a little scared, I’m actually looking forward to seeing the remake which is unusual for me. x
Honestly, I think I would have completely freaked out. Even afterwards when they told me it was a setup, I don’t think I would have been able to calm down!
I just saw this video, I actually loved seeing all the setup they did for it. Some of the reactions were funny, I like the construction guy the best.
Dont know how I would have reaxted to that. lol. I loved the original, so I’ll have to see if this beats it!
That’s hilarious! I can’t believe that even though crazy stuff was going on, how many people stood there waiting to see what would happen next. My butt would have been out of there when she first started raising her voice lol.
I can only imagine. It sounds like something that would happen when I am in a shop!
Oh man, that would be awesome to be one of those patrons in the shop watching it happen!!
I would have been out of that coffee shop in two seconds flat and I would have never known it was a set up. The customers’ faces were great….I would have reacted the same way….. if I would have stayed around long enough.
LOL!!! That would be trippy indeed. 🙂 I’ve never seen the original because I’m a big c.h.i.c.k.e.n. 🙂
It was probably terrifying for the customers, since they do not play in that movie and their emotions are real, but finally it looks like prank or “Just For Gags”(TV program).
I saw that on the Today show! I would have seriously peed my pants!!
When I saw this video, I almost died!! LOL I love it! I showed it to EVERYONE that would watch. Even my kids. They were like WOAH!!
it seems like the opposite of the “funny” prank shows – scary – but at least it is staged.
I saw this on GMA the other day and went eh. Wasn’t “scary”. But the people in the coffee shop sure pee’d themselves xD
I bet it’s scary if your right there while it happens, it’s an in the moment kind of scare then bam.. You find out and you laugh. lol
Too funny! That’s great!
That is really funny. I don’t know how I would react if I was there because I know that people can actually move things with their minds so I might just go over to her and ask her how she does it.
It looked so funny.I think I may have fainted or screamed if I was there. Thanks for sharing.
