I selected four products from Mía Mariù to review: The Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara in Black, the Loose Mineral Eyeshadow Liner in Rosa, the Intense Lip Liner in Canela (Plum), and the Perfect Blending Brush No. 22.
The Perfect Blending Brush No. 22 is supposed to be used to apply loose mineral foundation, but I don’t think it is big enough for this. The size of this brush is a little awkward, too big to be used for eye makeup but is also a lot smaller than the typical blush or powder brush. It is wide but not round or full so it would be best used as a contour brush. It is however, very soft. The outside hairs do not seem to be the best quality, but the tips of the hairs feel like those of higher quality brushes. When I received this brush in the mail, a couple of the outside hairs were bent and sprawled out. Overall, it is a nice brush; it is just not very useful. At $22, the price of this brush is a little high, and I’m not sure if I would spend the money. However, if you are looking for a smaller brush to travel with, this brush would be good!
The next product I looked at was the Loose Mineral Eyeshadow Liner in Rosa. These loose eyeshadows come in a variety of BEAUTIFUL colors, and are pretty versatile. The shadow comes in a container that holds the loose product in the bottom and has a divider with holes in it to allow for easier application. The container, however, is VERY small! You do not get a lot of product for the price.
The product is very nice though. I think the color is so beautiful and soft. Because it is a loose eyeshadow, it is more difficult to work with, but is also more versatile. You can sweep it on to cover your lid, blend it easily with other colors, or wet it and use it as eyeliner. I think this color is a little too light to be used as an eyeliner though. The color pay out is more on the sheer side. For this particular shade, I actually prefer a sheer pay out because it gives a very pretty and natural look. Overall, this eyeshadow is pretty good. I really love the color and I think it is good quality, but you don’t get much product for the price, $14.
Next is the Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara in Black. I really like this product! The brush is nice and full, the color is very pigmented, the product goes on very smoothly without clumps and feels light as air, it lasts all day, and it is easily removed with soap and water. At $13, it’s a fair price. The downside to this product is that, again, it is too small! The container is about half the size of a typical tube of mascara and almost as expensive as mascaras sold at department stores. The product also has a funny smell to it, but that wouldn’t stop me from using it. In fact, I replaced my favorite mascara with this Mía Mariù product. I’ve actually fallen asleep without washing my face while wearing this mascara (I know, shame on me) and didn’t even wake up with raccoon eyes!
Finally, we have the Intense Lip Liner in Canela. I think that out of the four products, this one is the most reasonably priced. Just like the other products, the liner was a little bit on the small side, but it isn’t much smaller than the average liner and won’t go fast.
I think the Canela shade is gorgeous! It is a great color for winter/the holidays! The color seemed different than the way it appeared on the website, but I liked the real life color better! The way I applied the product was by first lining my lips, then filling them in with the liner, and adding a clear chapstick on top. The liner feels very dry on your lips and a chapstick is necessary.
The color payout is very beautiful and pigmented. The problem with this product though is that it is not very smooth but rather very hard. The tip is very hard and sharp and does not glide on very smoothly. This isn’t such a big problem though and overall I really love this liner! And at $11 it is reasonably priced!
Overall, I really like the Mía Mariù makeup. I don’t know if I like the brushes for everyday use, but they would be great to buy for travel. What I really like about the makeup products is the natural look they give. The products aim to accent and highlight your natural features and not cover up with heavy foundations and fake eyelashes. Natural beauty never goes out of style.
