LG’s OLED TV Now at Best Buy!

Disclaimer: The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.

I bought my first LG television about seven years ago, and I was thrilled with it. It was the first truly flat screen TV I had, and just about everything about it delighted me – the bigger screen, the clearer picture, the fact that I could move the thing without a crane and six strong men.

Technology moves fast, though, especially in the area of home theater systems. What was cutting edge seven years ago would probably be considered stone-age today. Once I moved on to a television with internet-connectivity (and Netflix streaming!), I knew I could never go back (to think I survived a childhood limited to half a dozen channels! Quelle horreur!).

Now, LG is offering the Next Big Thing at Best Buy, and it’s ah-mazing. LG OLED offers what is being called “the ultimate display”, and it is absolutely gorgeous.

LG_OLED_Infill_smaller file 2

First of all, at only 0.21” thick at its thinnest point, the OLED makes my current flat-screen look bulky. It delivers a natural, realistic-looking viewing experience with something called “infinite contrast ratio” and four color pixel technology (which enhances both color range and accuracy), both of which concepts go over my head but sound awesome.

Pencil thin

Finally, the OLED offers an intuitive webOS™Smart TV interface which allows you to find content super-fast. This thrills me, because I have become one of those obnoxious people who has to be attached to the internet in one way or another 24/7. You can pry my iPhone 5 with 4G from my cold, dead fingers; how else am I supposed to find the location of the recently opened cat café? (Kitties!!!!!)

Um, I digress, I think. But! Kitties look even cuter on the LG OLED screen – their whiskers more whisker-like, their fur looks so soft you can imagine you can reach out and touch it. (Don’t do that! You’ll smudge the beautiful curved screen!) The point is, this is a television that has it all – lightning fast technology that gives you the content you want without the wait, and delivers it beautifully as well, all without breaking the bank. Best Buy’s everyday price for the LG OLED is $3499.99, offering a savings of $500. You can learn more at LGOLEDatBestbuy.com.

We bought our last TV, a 70″ JVC HDTV, 7 years ago. We love it but, other than being big and having great resolution, it was a basic TV. There was no internet connectivity. We used our DVD player for NETFLIX.

I remember the TV we had when I was a kid. It was one of those huge, bulky ones that sit on the floor. There was no remote and only half a dozen channels. Everybody watched TV shows at the same time back then.
