By Rachel Harris
Accidentally Married On Purpose is the third book in my small town romantic comedy series, and while I’ve loved every single moment I’ve spent in Magnolia Springs, I confess this story is my favorite.
Why, you may ask? Well, there are many reasons. Sherry has been a fan favorite since Taste the Heat, the first book in the Love and Games series, and I confess she made me laugh the most, too. She continued cracking me up in Seven Day Fiancé, and I’ve eagerly waited until I could tell her story, knowing what a blast it would be living inside her head for a few months—and I was right. It wasn’t just Sherry, though. Her hot hero, Tyler Blue, fulfilled a childhood fantasy of mine, the crazy concept of falling in love with a celebrity. Plus, come on, he’s a country singer.
I’m all about the country, y’all.
But honestly, more than any other reason, Accidentally Married On Purpose holds a special place in my heart because my husband inspired an important part of the story. September 18, 2010, I woke up bleary-eyed and tired to find a Post-it note stuck to my bathroom mirror.
You Are Cherished!
That was all it said. You Are Cherished, along with the date. A simple message, but one with a powerful impact.
I felt cherished, I felt loved, and I was extremely giddy. Not to mention suddenly ready to tackle whatever life threw my way that day. I decided to keep it on my mirror, hoping it would continue to inspire me throughout the week, and it did…right along with the one I found a few days later, on different color paper, stuck just beside it.
Notes kept appearing for fifteen months, equaling just over thirty notes in total, all lined in three multi-cored rows. Almost three years since the final note, they are still there.
That isn’t to say my husband doesn’t continue to leave me notes and cards, sweet and silly texts and cute messages. And these weren’t the first ones he ever sent me, either—I have drawers filled with cards he gave me during our courtship and early years. But these notes are special to me. They happen to cover the time in my life where I started writing my first novel, when I got an agent, and when I signed my first publishing contract. When I was struggling with the idea of following my dream while still keeping my role as homeschool mom and loving wife at the forefront of my mind.
These notes encouraged me, motivated me, and now, three years later, inspired me.
I hope you enjoy Accidentally Married On Purpose and smile on Tyler Blue’s love of Post-it notes. I hope you swoon over his unique way of expressing himself as much as I did.
And to my amazing husband, Gregg, thank you for showing me what a true hero looks like…and for giving me my own happily ever after.
About Rachel Harris:
Rachel Harris writes humorous love stories about sassy girls-next-door and the hot guys that make them swoon. Emotion, vibrant settings, and strong families are a staple in each of her books…and kissing. Lots of kissing.
A Cajun cowgirl now living in Houston, she firmly believes life’s problems can be solved with a hot, sugar-coated beignet or a thick slice of king cake, and that screaming at strangers for cheap, plastic beads is acceptable behavior in certain situations. She homeschools her two beautiful girls and watches way too much Food Network with her amazing husband.
An admitted Diet Mountain Dew addict, she gets through each day by laughing at herself, hugging her kids, and losing herself in story. She writes young adult, new adult, and adult romances, and LOVES talking with readers!
Make sure you check out Rachel Harris’ latest novel, Accidentally Married On Purpose, just released on July 14th.
About Accidentally Married on Purpose:
One ring plus one wild night equals one crazy love
Sherry Robicheaux loves men. She loves love. And she loves an adventure. So when she meets a mysterious man while working backstage at a country music concert in Vegas, she’s all about what happens in Vegas staying there.
Country music superstar Tyler Blue just wants a weekend of anonymity…though there’s something about the spunky waitress with the streaks of purple hair that tempts him like no other. Until the next morning, when they both wake up with fuzzy memories…and rings on their fingers.
Convincing Sherry to maintain the ruse for his public image isn’t the hardest part—it’s reminding himself that their time spent playing husband and wife in her small town of Magnolia Springs can’t last. Tyler’s first love will always be music—and the road is no place for a sweet downhome girl.
