Learning To Climb, Kiss And A Trip To The Zoo!

By Guest

twins, zooHow can it be that I wrote my last blog two weeks ago? I can’t believe how fast time goes by. It was a “fun” two weeks that started with Christopher getting sick, followed by Tyler, followed by Anthony, and then me.

The boys have had a fever in the past, but this was their first cold. They were sneezing up a storm and coughing like crazy! They were miserable little guys. They weren’t interested in eating and just wanted to be cuddled all day. Thankfully, they would eat yogurt; so they lived on yogurt and milk for a day.

Christopher was sick for about four days and the day after, Tyler got it and was sick for about five days, Anthony had it for about a week, and I was the lucky one who had it for two weeks. I was up a few times a night with each of the boys while they were sick. They could barely breathe out of their nose and it would wake them up. Thankfully, their sickness didn’t last too terribly long and they were back to themselves in no time.

It seems like the boys have been growing up so fast over these past few weeks. I look at them and they just look and act like they are three or something. Their grandma and grandpa bought them these remote control cars that they were playing with; and it just seems like they are too young to be playing with remote control cars. That’s what “big kids” do.

The boys have been climbing on things like they are monkeys, especially Tyler. He will bring any and every toy over to the couch so he can get on top of it. Christopher discovered how to climb up onto the entertainment center, so we had to put diaper boxes in the bottom openings so he couldn’t use it to get up there. (Don’t worry, the television and pillars are strapped to the wall).climbing twins

The boys just recently started to give me “kisses”, when I ask, “can I have a kiss?” Christopher basically runs at me with his mouth wide open and Tyler sticks his face right next to mine. It’s so cute!

We took the boys to the zoo for their time since it was a free admission day for everyone. I think they were more interested in all the people than the animals. I’m sure they will enjoy it much more as they get older. After about two hours while we were getting ready to leave, they fell asleep, so we ended up just eating lunch there. Overall, it was a nice little trip to the zoo!

So, Anthony and I are going on a little vacation next week; taking a two day train ride to Chicago, IL and then flying back home the very next day. I’m super excited and can’t wait! We took an overnight train from Florida to North Carolina during our honeymoon and since then, we have wanted to go again, but just haven’t found the time.

I have a few pizza places and restaurants in mind, not sure how many we will actually get to in a 24-hour period. But, we have Pequod’s, Giordano’s, Gino’s (Thanks to Groupon), Lou Malnati’s, Uno, and Joy Yee’s Noodles on the list. We also just plan to walk around the city and sightsee since we have never been to Chicago. It looks like Chicago has been having some pretty nice weather, so I’m hoping for no snow storms while we are there.

If anyone has any other restaurants or places we should try to see, I would love to hear them!

Your boys are adorable. Enjoy every minute, they grow up too fast, my oldest (almost 21) is moving to his 1st apartment this weekend. He moved in with friends once for a few weeks but that didn’t work out too well.

    Enjoy your mini vacay.

What cute little boys!! And yes the little things they learn are so darn cute–like kissing and hugging. It looks like one of them at least was intrigued by the fish at the zoo!! Enjoy them while they are young–but be sure to triple child proof your house!! I hope you enjoy your trip to Chicago!

Your twin boys are adorable! When me and my twin sister were learning to climb, we actually wanted to climb on things like the coffee table and dinning table. But your boys are too cute!

Ann- we just joined the library 2 weeks ago and I found on their website that you can “rent” free day passes to some of the museums around. How crazy?! I never knew libraries did such a thing!

Colette- you can borrow mine for a day 🙂 They are seriously so much fun. I never knew it could be so entertaining!

They are absolutely adorable. And now with kissing! So sweet.

The one saving grace of little kids being sick is that they seem to get over things much more quickly than us older folks do.

I hope everyone is well again. They are such adorable boys and glad you are making the most of them. Zoo looks great. The kisses stage is the greatest isn’t it.
