Kate Gosselin will be participating in this Sunday’s San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. Last December, she completed her first marathon ever when she ran in the Rock ‘n’ Run Las Vegas Marathon.
Here are the results on how she fared:
In March, Kate was featured in the I’m A Runner section of Runner’s World and she shared some of her running routines with the readers.
This time of year it is absolutely gorgeous in San Diego. The weather for Sunday is predicted to be sunny with a high of 64 and the event has sold out! The courses for the marathon and half marathon are as “flat and festive as they come – perfect for runners and walkers of all ability levels.”
Imperfect Women would like to wish Kate and all the participants a wonderful race. Have you ever participated in a half marathon or marathon?
I hope Kate does well. I saw her say on twitter that she was running with the kids soon, but that must be a difference race?
San Diego is perfect weather this time of year.
I wonder how long it will take until the conspiracy theories start that she didn’t actually run the race?
I have noticed that Kate has had the kids most weekends lately. Perhaps she worked something out with Jon to keep them for an extended weekend so that she can be in San Diego this weekend. I m sure that she arranged to run this 1/2 marathon when school was out. I do hope that they are getting along that well. I wish her a happy and satisfying run. I also hope that Mr. SD brings the lettuce wraps to the finish line for her, and they get a photo together and publish it on Twitter.
Good luck to Kate! I’m sure she’ll have no problem after running the full. I am jealous, I want to be in San Diego this weekend.
Rosemary,
Who is Mr. SD?
I am in San Diego this weekend (and most all weekends) and we wish Kate was not here.
I have never run a mile let alone a half or whole marathon. I am loud and happy support for a few who do though. I absolutely LOVE to watch the race especially the finish. The last full marathon I watched was a Rock and Roll marathon and it was a really close finish with five men vying for the prize money. It was spectacular to watch!
I have two friends (married couple) who are running in the race on Sunday. The husband is running his first 1/2 marathon and the wife is running her second full marathon. I am excited for them and donated last March to their “team” and the cause that they are running for. I wish them the best. They are a lovely young couple with a great family. I will be watching on the computer for their progress.
Pam: Mr. SD is a guy on Kate’s twitter from San Diego. He is always bragging about the weather there, and apparently he goes to Mr. Chang’s often.
MissHanna: I am sure there is room in San Diego for all who would like to be there this weekend. I know that you do not speak for everyone in San Diego.
I am in San Diego this weekend (and most all weekends) and we wish Kate was not here.
Why not? And who is “we?” I assume you’re not speaking for the whole city.
I really admire Kate’s commitment to fitness. I cannot imagine running a half-marathon. It sounds exhausting.
There is no “Mr. Chang’s” in San Diego, either. Do you mean P.F. Changs? Also, do you get off the farm much? Wow, getting so excited about Kate getting off hers and coming to the big city!
MissHanna, I have been trying to get out of Los Angeles and back living on the farm for years. Gosh, all this time I thought Green Acres was the place to be. 😉
San Diego is a big city. I am sure you will be able to miss seeing Kate.
It’s exciting to find out someone you watched on TV and follow closely via the Internet is in your hometown. It’s normal to want to share that you have this special connection based on physical proximity.
I am sure Kate will have a great time in S.D 🙂 I wish her well. It’s certainly a beautiful part of the country.
I am pretty partial to the farm as well. Mostly for the berries and veggies and the farm fresh cream.
Rosemary, is that Elvis you are talking about? I do remember him now. Mr Chang’s , P.F. Chang’s – it all sounds good to me.
I been to the Mr Chang’s in Florida. Out of this world wonton soup.
MissHanna: I do mean P. F. Chang’s. Sorry, I do not eat oriental food often. Too much sodium. You only make yourself look small when you try to insult farmers. Look around you, what do you have in your pantry and refrigerator that was not grown on a farm? Yes, I did grow up in a rural area, but now I live near a big city, but I really enjoy going to the Farmer’s Market.
Pam: Yes, I do mean Elvis.
I talked to Jenny Masche today and she is running the 1/2 marathon also with her husband. Lots of people to follow in this one. I hope things go smoothly for all.
that sounds like the place to go for a run…well at least it’s a nice city to run in. Hopefully Kate has a great time and I wish her luck and to all the others running!
Hanna, I think SD is big enough for Kate to be in so you don’t run into her. But for you to speak for the entire city of San Diego, all 1.3 million is a little Presumptuous.
Pam,
I wisk Kate and Jenny good luck this weekend. It’s not about winning, it’s finshing the race. I give them high 5’s for doing it.
Miss Hanna,
What a small minded person you are, and if your an example of people in the San Diego area, they probably wish you would move on. Why aren’t you running for a cause this weekend instead of complaining here about 1 runner. I have been and still am a part of the food chain in in America, so don’t insult the farmer. You can stop shopping anytime at the store for your food that the farmer provides for you.
So Jenny is going to be there too! Good for her. Sounds like this is the run to be at.
I’m still jealous. I’ll have a nice weekend here, but not “San Diego” nice.
Wow, Jenny is running in this marathon too? Cool. Good luck to both Kate and Jenny! I hope they do well!
Miss Hanna….sad you are so bitter about someone you don’t even know or have never met. Very sad.
Good luck to both Kate and Jenny. Never been to SD but it looks beautiful on the net! The weather forecast is low of 57 and high 72. Sounds perfect for running.
Good luck to Kate & Jenny & all the other runners!
Lisa my interpretation of the Mom pledge doesn’t mean putting an end to freedom of speech. While the poster in question was a bit rude in her comment I believe all handled it in a lighthearted manner. When she came back and was over the top in her comment to another person who comments here, we deleted.
It’s a judgement call. We do our best. It isn’t easy running a website that allows comments on the Gosselins. You can try it for yourself to see but I wouldn’t recommend it. 🙂
Besides..we would hate to have to change our name to PerfectWomen :-)..just sayin’
San Diego is beautiful. It’s been too many years since I have been there. Got to get back for a visit.
.
Good luck to Jenny and Kate. They both set a great example to moms (and dads!) on the many benefits to staying in shape and choosing a fitness activity that you love.
.
Can’t wait to see pictures and the finishing times. Good luck to ALL the runners!
Any idea what Jenny & Levi bib numbers or their last name, its early and I’m still not awake yet.
Kate’s is 16791 and you can follow here http://running.competitor.com/live-results#b=R7KS8FNH~2&v=ptrack
Also Kate set Fired Up on twitter up with mobile alerts so she’ll be broadcasting
I don’t know their Bib number but their last name is McClendon
Thanks Pam!
Kate did great! She finished in under 2 hours.
Congrats Kate!
FINISH 01:56:39 8:13:27 am 08:47
Congrats to Kate!! Hope Jenny is doing well also!
I couldn’t track Jenny & Levi, None of the names I tried worked ;-(
Kate did Great & Fired Up made it fun.
Hispanic Elvis got to meet up with Steve & Kate.
It was fun 🙂
Drborah,
I noticed a non fan was so involved with the race and twitter run. Guess she really does support Kate! Who would have thought. 🙂 Man, did she give herself away this morning. Kate would be proud to know this gal was rooting for her all the way.
Sunday morning busy here……Glad Kate did well. I need to find out how my friends did. I know they were very excited….
I am not sure about Jenny and Levi. They were running with a group of about five, if I remember right.
I did find Levi’s time. #20798 Looks like 1/2 marathon at 3 hours and 35 minutes. They have a Jenny Gass connected to him #1352, Half Marathon and I am wondering if that is Jenny. 2 hours and 5 minutes.
My friends finished around the 2 hour and 20 minute mark. I thought the wife was doing the full today but she did the half.
Congratulations to everyone who ran!
Thanks Pam for finding Levi & I’m guessing Jenny. Congrats to them.
Deborah,
Sorry for mis-spelling your name. 🙁
Glad that Pam’s friends had a good run and Jenny and Levi also!
Wow, those Moms of Multiples really make me feel guilty! They had wonderful times. I wonder if Kate and Jenny met???

Hope this link works for you. Has photos.
Thanks Rosemary. I hadn’t seen those.
Pattypie regarding your post #26. I was in no way trying to be snarky. I’m a big supporter of Kate, and more so because of all the bullying she endures. As the mother of a bullied child, I loathe bullies.
When IW adopted the mom pledge I was thrilled, and delighted to see a troll ignored and deleted without a word on a previous article. It was my understanding that was how this would be handled in the future. Instead, when I briefly mentioned that such comments were against the pledge, and congratulated Kate, Jenny, and the rest of the runners, my comment was deleted….twice (we’ll see how long this one lasts), yet the nasty-grams from Miss Hannah, and the un-kind remarks made to her from members of this community stand….I thought only the haters did that? I let it go, only to find I’m being chastised by you for holding IW to the standards it has set.
Linked to from your website:
“I stand up against cyber bullying. My online space reflects who I am and what I believe in. I will not tolerate comments that are defamatory, hateful or threatening.
I refuse to give those who attack a platform. I will remove their remarks with no mention or response. I can take control.
I want to see moms work together to build one another up, not tear each other down. Words can be used as weapons. I will not engage in that behavior.”
My internet time is very minimal, it’s my down time to relax and unwind after hours of study. I had to stop participating on Kate’s Twitter, because the nastiness stressed me out rather then relaxed me. I thought IW was a respite from all the Gosselin drama….I was wrong. As to your suggestion I run a Gosselin website? No thanks, I have a Lab practical to study for, and haven’t the time…it must be nice.
Lisa,
The Mom Pledge is a guideline. It is not an absolute. It is also open to interpretation. There were quite a few comments deleted on this thread without a mention. In fact, IW has deleted comments without a mention for the three years that we have existed and we have also responded to comments that we delete. There are times that comments need responding to.
I don’t believe Pattypie was chastising you. Just stating her opinion. For the most part, I think this thread has remained fairly respectful.
A lab practical? Good luck with your studies! I hope you do well.
Lisa,
What is your lab practical in? What are you studying for?
I’m studying Human Anatomy. It’s a prerequisite for the nursing program I want to apply to. I have this, physiology, and microbiology left, then I can apply. I really wasn’t trying to be snarky earlier, I apologize if I came across that way. Also I may have stretched a bit with using the word chastise, but I didn’t think I posted anything that warranted deletion. Anyway, back to thoracic viscera…..
Lisa,
I am an RN. Received my BSN back in 1977 and then went through two different post graduate courses required for different jobs that I held. I am retired now but I keep my license active. It is a good profession to be in but can be tough at times. Best of luck to you.
Thank you Pam. I’m a bit longer in the tooth as college students go. Nursing is something I’ve always wanted to do, but couldn’t afford the tuition to get there. I know many nurses, and have heard quite a few horror stories, but fortunately the profession is flexible regarding the capacity you work in, so hopefully I can choose well to avoid burnout.
See new entry on Kate’s CC blog. She is going to do a CC mini marathon in Chicago in July.
I was just writing it up https://imperfectwomen.com/run-the-chicago-mini-marathon-with-kate-gosselin/
Myself personaly, IW is a great blog with many subjects that interest many. It takes dedication and many hours to provide new articles on a weekly bases. I have enjoyed being a contributer, but no way could I ever run a blog. Thanks ladies for a job well done and to the guys who keep us in stiches sometimes.
Hey – how funny I didn’t know Kate was at the race! SD race is awesome, I have run 3 full’s and a couple half’s. I’m getting my new sons into running, it is fun! Levi walked/ran with his 10 yr old Griffen…. long day but they crossed the finish line!! And I ran with Treyton, the 12 yr old. This was his 3rd and he’s gotten faster every time! It’s been fun to incorporate the kids, and the sextuplets are running their first “together” in LA this fall. I’m hoping to have a running family! 🙂 And yes, ALL of you, even you non-runners could complete a half marathon, I promise!
That Great Jenny 🙂 Woot Woot
I have a new blog post by Jenny that I will post sometime today! It is really awesome.
Jenny,
Can’t wait to read Pam’s new post about your run. Way to go!
Jenny,
What a wonderful way for you & Levi to blend your families.
Finishing it up. I didn’t write it, Jenny did and it is about her wedding day. I am just putting it all together
I am hoping she will write about her running experiences for us down the line. 🙂
