Imperfect Women spoke to Chad Long, Assistant Director of Student Affairs and an advisor to the Student Activities Committee (SAC) which was the committee responsible for booking Kate Gosselin. The SAC plans, coordinates, and implements comprehensive educational and social programming for students throughout the year.
Mr. Long said the students are very excited about Kate speaking at this event and are looking forward to it. He also shared that 95 percent of the people he has talked to regarding this event are very positive about the choice of guest speaker and that he has only received two or three negative calls.
Mr. Long said that Kate Gosselin will be talking about “resiliency”. He stated, “Students need to hear from someone who has been handed tough situations is life such as having eight young children and going through a divorce and the aftermath of that divorce which included the hounding of the paparazzi. They need to see how this person could have crawled in a hole but chose to move on and set an example.”
Long mentioned that both Matt Roloff and Hillary Clinton have spoken at the Penn State Fayette campus.
There will be a meet and greet following Kate’s talk.
