Kate Gosselin was interviewed by Jon Hein and Jennifer Hutt from the Sirius Radio 101 show, “What’s Worth Watching” this morning. Since I subscribe to Sirius Radio I decided to listen and I am glad I did. It was a good interview and you could tell that both hosts were informed and well prepared to interview Kate.
Kate was in studio for this interview and it seemed like she was relaxed and enjoying the interview. Credit can be given to Jon and Jenny for this due to the welcoming atmosphere they provided. Jon let Kate know right away that he has two daughters in high school and that they are huge fans of Jon and Kate Plus 8 and Kate Plus 8 and they had given him a list of questions to ask Kate.
Pictures are around the internet of Kate being interviewed for the show and you can see that she looked hot dressed in a teal and black dress paired with black boots. After the show the hosts and a few men in the background remarked how she rocked what she was wearing!
The interview was over 30 minutes long and many of the areas touched were things that many of us have read or heard before but I am sure that there were others listening that found the interview informative and interesting.
Jenny did bring up the fact that Kate’s looks changed so dramatically during the show. She wanted to know if there was something specific that caused Kate to want such a dramatic makeover. Kate explained that when we first met her, the kids were just turning one and she basically had very little time to devote to her looks. As time went on and the craziness died down, there was more time for a cut and color and exercise. She remarked, “It just came naturally. I think it was the time frame I would have done it in had the cameras been on or off.” Kate went on to say the moms get sucked into the whole “sweat pant wearing” being a mom phase and she doesn’t agree with that. She feels that is she looks good and feels good about herself, it is going to make her a better mom. “We are role models for our kids and it is a good way to express to your kids to keep yourself looking healthy.”
Jon did ask Kate if there were things she missed not having a “normal” life (meaning not having a reality TV show) and she said “yes, but having twins and sextuplets, I never would have had a normal life. My life would be different regardless.” Jon did mention to Kate that he is not a big fan of Reality TV but his wife got him interested in watching Jon and Kate Plus 8 and he wanted to give the Gosselins credit because “there was “reality” in their reality TV show.”
There were several callers with questions and keeping with the spirit of Howard Stern and Sirius Radio, Chris from Philly called in and called Kate a MILF. And not to be out done, some joker from Oregon asked if Kate and Jon had tried “marriage counseling or……anal sex or something to save the marriage.” Yikes! Kate actually laughed and she did answer the first part of that and said that they had not tried marriage counseling because you “need two people to actually want the marriage to survive in order for marriage counseling to work.”
The joker from Oregon also asked about the “kids who had problems” in school last year and Kate said “as far as kids being removed from school…there were true medical issues there that were taken care of. They only came to light at that time and that unfortunately unfolded publicly but they are thriving and doing amazingly well in school. They returned in April and finished kindergarten and now they are in first grade. Last year was really rough for all of us and once we got those issues taken care of and straightened out, I am just grateful every day that I have kids that are excelling and doing wonderfully.”
The interview ended with a question on whether Kate would do the Bachelorette and she said she doesn’t think that show is right for her but she would consider a dating show. She also confirmed again that she is the only one that Tweets or writes her blogs and that she would never let anyone else put words in her mouth or tweet or write for her.
Great interview Jon and Jenny!
