There is a digital billboard that has turned quite a few heads in Greensboro, N.C. the last two days and grabbed national media attention. The jury is still out though on whether this billboard is truly due to a woman scorned or just a clever marketing ploy.
The message on the billboard reads:
“Michael, GPS Tracker – $250, Nikon Camera with zoom lens – $1600, Catching my lying husband and buying this billboard with our investment account, – Priceless. – Jennifer.”
There is also a small note underneath it that says, “Tell Jessica you’re moving in!”
Initially, the general consensus was a woman named Jennifer was mighty angry.
However today a new digital message reads, “Jessica – Meet me at Yodaddy’s at 7:00 p.m. for some wine therapy. -Jennifer.” Yo Daddy’s is a local restaurant and it turns out the company that owns Yo Daddy’s owns the digital billboard.
Sounds like this could be a marketing ploy. Either way, it works! If it is marketing it is pretty clever and if not, Michael better watch his back!
Wow. I had seen the initial billboard ad somewhere on Facebook. I thought Jennifer had some cajones for doing that. LOL
I hadn’t heard about the new billboard until now. I think Yo Daddy’s might be marketing geniuses!
I saw this on FB as well. If it’s a marketing ploy I think they should have included their names in the first billboard. I am sure the second probably won’t get as much the first.
I have to say this is the first time I have seen it.. but I agree I think it is a marketing ploy…
Marketing ploy is my guess. I hope no one would blow their investments doing that.
This would be so much funnier if it was indeed real, but it is a smart advertising move, making people scratch their heads!
BUSTED!!!!! modern technology screwed him too!
This is very clever! A definite departure from the typical advertising…
It’s a eye catcher, but great billboard move.
Hummmmm believe or not believe? 😉
Whether it is real or not, it would definitely catch people’s eye and that is a win for the billboard owners! lol Quite funny!
Not sure if marketing ploy or not, but definitely something I would do.
Clever either way. LOL
Jennifer video that we were provided – we censored it, blurred the faces and added the billboard photo at the end. http://youtu.be/fm2MT5-6808
Oh, I wondered about this. I was also kind of hoping it was true, but I guess it is better that it is not. Public revenge looks good from afar, but it’s probably messy up close. It def looks like a marketing ploy. It was a good one. They got a lot of attention for a little message.
I had not heard of this yet, smart marketing if that is what it is, if not she is one mad mad women lol
It is the first i saw of this and thought it seemed real, so a good way to get thier name out there. wonder how many actually went there to see
That is definitely some brilliant marketing! It did exactly what you want a good ad campaign to do… got people talking and had them curious.
meh I’d be dissapointed if it had all been ploy! I liked that womans gull
That’s hilarious. I think it’s marketing, and it’s doing what it was meant to do, it’s grabbing everyone’s attention.
