Does anyone know anything about Morkies temperments? My friend knows someone looking to give his little morkie away because his daughters won’t take care of her and I am dying to have a little dog. I know they don’t shed, are a cross between Maltese and Yorkies but I don’t know anyone that’s had one or what kind of temperments they have.
Kmom2,
I don’t have one but I was reading around and found this:
.
“Personality
Morkie dogs take on the temperament of both Yorkies and Maltese. They are bold, energetic little dogs.
They are also highly intelligent and easy to train, but can be difficult to housebreak. They are sometimes suspsious of strangers and can serve as a good watchdog.
Morkies and Morkie puppies do best with older children as younger children under the age of 10 years old can accidently injure this tiny dog. Most people find them to have the mellowness of a Maltese and the tenacity of a terrier. ”
.
We just recently adopted a min pincher and we just love him.
Thanks Pam. I was researching them yesterday too. I have a yellow lab now but he’s my sons dog and will be going with my son when he moves to PA in a few weeks. My friend asked me about this and I would LOVE to have her but just can’t decide.
A dog that doesn’t shed is particularly attractive as I vacuum my bedroom EVERY NIGHT while my adorable lab watches me.
Kmom2 – our daughter has a Maltese. Had him for 5 yrs. before children. Smart, loving & gentle BUT…needs grooming, has a ‘bark collar’ b/c they live in a condo (yippie)…& even tho’ they have a doggie door…he is NOT completely trained. They have to put pee pads down at night. All in all, I’d say the Maltese part is high maintenance & does not like being alone. P.S. I don’t believe the Yorkie is considered allergy free.
New article about Jon and his latest love at Radar Online.
Love the Wetpaint article. It is about Jon, but they have a big picture of Kate.
Well, I’m not getting the little morkie girl. The owner’s daughters got very upset when he told them he was getting rid of her. That’s just as well. I would never take her if his daughters didn’t want to give the dog up. He told my friend his daughters don’t take care of her and he was sick of the dog and wanted to get rid of her. SO I will just have to live with my 4 bunnies and antique cat after my beloved Buddy goes to PA. I just hope the little morkie is loved and cared for properly.
Rosemary and others…I kind of got the sense that you probably did not want to talk about other Gosselin news on the current thread and I understand…so I created this new thread for open discussion:

Thank you Pam. I wanted that thread to be all about Kate, and the good work that she is doing.
Pretty flowers . I wish I had time to do flowers. We are officially planted. I am so tired now but it is ok. Last year we didnt plant until after May 8th.
Sorry that last comment was supposed to go in Snickers garden.
Sunday is my birthday and I will be celebrating my first Mothers day this year.
lynn,
I am planted also, we have storms in the area. Received very small hail last night but no damage.
Happy Birthday and enjoy your Mommy Day!! Have fun!
Hey snickers keep that hail please. I want one year without it.
Congratulations, Lynn, on both the planting accomplishment and you First Mother’s Day. How sweet.
My first Mother’s Day was 21 years ago. Ah! I remeber just what we did with our little boy. I got to pick the activity and it was so nice. We visited the Game Preserve and spent time in petting zoo. My little almost-one-year-old was scared of the chickens! But he loved the little goat and giggled. We picnicked by the river. It was a beautifully sunny day. Lynn, I hope you make some sweet memories this year. Happy Birthday.
Thank you.
We’ve almost survived this school year, only 2 weeks 2.5 days left. I’m sure after they are out of school for a week or so I’ll be counting down the days until school starts again.
Congrats Lynn on your first Mother’s Day
Yes congratulations to Lynn on her first Mother’s Day. Wow, school almost over already!
My husband and I will be having our 35th wedding anniversary this month. I can’t believe it. I remember how old I thought my parents were at there 35th. LMAO. Someone shared this with me and it is so the truth:
.
“Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened!”
Pam,
Congrats to you and hubby. I hope you have great plans to honor this big anniversary! I sure wish for punch and cake here on the special day. (maybe drinks by the pool at Pie’s) 🙂
Pam, congratulations to you and J! This is something to be very happy and proud of. Wishing you guys at least another 35! <3
Happy Birthday Lynn.
I have been wanting to say something about the passing of Beastie Boys Adam Yauch on Friday. It’s difficult to put into words, but if you were a teenager growing up in the mid to late 80’s, you probably ‘get it.’ Adam Yauch was not only a gifted musician, but a real and decent human being. I think it says a lot that you never heard about this group having all the ego trips and clashes so typical for those who reach their level of fame. Rest in peace, MCA.
I am LMAO with that survey today. Saturday I decided to do a nose dive into a concrete step. So I have a clown nose and then some going.
Oh no, lynn. Hope you are ok. Mother’s Day coming up.
I am ok. Just got a good concrete rash on my nose and forehead. I look goofy. No broken nose thank god. I did save the tray of plants I was bringing in. I wish I would have fallen on them though. It would have been a bit softer.
Lynn, you poor thing. Glad there were no broken bones. Hope your rash clears up quickly.
.
Rest in peace, Maurice Sendak.

lynn,
That sweetie can kiss Mommy’s boo boo’s! Have a great Mother’s day and be careful!
This is why I don’t care for politicians at all…..Wasserman Schultz like many other elected officals think they deserve more than you do! They need to be thrown out of office just like 6 term Senator Lugar was today.

Happy Mothers Day! I hope everyone has a lovely day.
Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! Lovely day here.
Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there. Hope your day was filled with love, joy and happpiness.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoying some down time. I also hope you are all having beautiful weather.
It is just gorgeous here , Pam. I imagine Californians enjoy this perfectly temperate weather year-round. Not us! We have to take what we can get. The day was absolutely perfect.
Very pleasant here today too. Glad others are having a nice day too. Yesterday was nice too and I spent a lot of time in the garden. Today my (middle aged) back is paying the cost!
.
Ann, we do get more than our share of very nice days, but I know Pam has to deal with some overpowering heat during the summer and early fall. In our part of the state, it can actually be pretty chilly during the summer. You know the Mark Twain quote…! 🙂
So this is how the President honors our Soliders…..

stu…you have NO IDEA just how panicked our military community is! I know I have mentioned this elsewhere on IW, but for whatever reason, the general public has not listened to what goes on when it comes to the military. If Obama gets what he’s asking for…I know that my husband & I will be kicking in almost $8k a yr. more for our medical benefits…which we’ve been paying for every month for 50 years out of our pay towards our retirement.
HB,
Obama has no idea who really protects all of does he? This time around, all military personal better get their ballots to vote.
Stu, that is an excellent link. Typical democrat ideals. Make sure all public employees, from municipal to federal get cadillac health care benefits and retirement, but forget the men and women that have actually served and protected this nation and put their lives on the line. Please note: Police and firefighters should get the cadillac benefits, because they too serve and protect.
We have a lovely Coach bag that we are giving away. https://imperfectwomen.com/coach-signature-bag-giveaway/
Perfect for you, Stu!
Pam…..I have one.
Besides the lefts utter disgust for the Military, The President knows he can screw with them because the career Military aren’t their for the money….it’s a calling for them.
Nice to see that on this Memorial Day weekend, some are honoring the fallen by…doing what they do every day of the year, spewing their hatred of their fellow Americans, most especially their President.
Jennie….once again you show you have a comprehension problem! There is NO better way to honor the Military than to fight for the benefits that they deserve.
By the way, stating the facts that the President wants to reduce their Health Care Benefits is not an attack on the President …it is the truth. All Americans should be outraged that on Memorial Weekend the Administration is promoting this.
Personally, I am annoyed that my nephew will have to go to Afghanistan now, after he did two tours in Iraq. I *thought* he’d be done this summer, but it seems he is required to go back to war. 🙁
Incredibly, while he is disappointed…he has a son on the way…he does not complain at all! He says he trust in Jesus and his American equipment and training.
an unsung Hero!
Jennie,
How sad that you feel this way, while Americans are fighting to protect yours and my freedoms. I for one honor the office, but when you take away the benefits that were promised to guys and gals in uniform, it’s a sad day in America, all the way around. Good grief, put on a uniform and then tell us you will do it for nothing.
I do have a post up about Memorial Day. Just wanted to make sure everyone say it. https://imperfectwomen.com/memorial-day-a-day-to-remember-and-honor/
Ann, tell your nephew to be safe and thank him for serving our country to protect our freedoms here in the USA.
May is almost over! Wow, just wow! Bring on June.
snickers, I never said anything that suggested that I don’t support funding for veterans. Do you remember all of the controversies over cuts in veterans’ spending during Bush’s administration? I can dig up the links if you want. I know there are Republicans who could not care less about veterans and military folk if it costs them one more cent.

In other news, what do people think about Sean Combs’ son accepting a $54,000 athletic scholarship from UCLA? Given how much Combs is worth, I think it would have been the more dignified route to let the scholarship go to a student who actually needed it. It’s been pointed out that plenty of students probably receive merit-based scholarships that are not needed, and we just don’t hear about it. Fair enough, but Combs has reportedly earned $45 MILLION so far in 2012. It just seems greedy to me.
Jennie: It seems greedy to me also, unless Combs has spent 46 million. I need more info really. Does this child live with and/or supported by Combs?
Jennie,
I don’t really have a problem with it. The son earned it and not Sean Combs. It is something for any athlete to be extremely proud of and only hard work and perseverance gets you to that point. What an honor to see your child receive any type of scholarship on their own merit.
Would it have given another student the opportunity to attend UCLA if he turned it down, yes. But it would have also given UCLA an unfair advantage in the recruitment game.
What would be nice, is to see Sean Combs donate money to a scholarship fund at UCLA so that other students could have opportunities they might not have had. And for all I know, maybe he already does that at UCLA or another institute.
