Hi everyone! Wow, it is 2012 already. Hard to believe. Imperfect Women is providing you with this thread to share whatever is on your mind or start a topic that you would like to discuss. Please feel free to ask questions or share information that you have come across.
If you have a January birthday or an anniversary, let us know so we can celebrate it with you. Let’s make 2012 a great year. We are excited to be have this opportunity to experience 2012 with you!
What is everyone up to this month? We finally have some warm weather here. I am not complaining because I like it cool around the holidays. I think it might have been 80 today.
.
My family will be celebrating several birthdays but none of them are mine, LOL. We are planning a trip to Vegas this month. We go quite a bit and I am not a big Vegas person but I always enjoy myself.
Gday or Gnite Pam 🙂 its 1pm here and sshhhh an empty house at last YAY
After a very mild winter here so far, it finally got cold today. Strange winter, almost like spring. No snow so far. I hope winter does not jam it all into one month.
I hate January. It is hard to get back into the groove of working after being off so much in Nov and Dec. I want to use my vacation days already but, will probably spend the month catching up on my reading.
Hi Mumbear9! It is 9:14 pm here. It will be goodnite pretty soon. Glad you have some time to yourself!
Hey Sage! How are you? I hope the rest of your winter is good to you. Our Badgers lost today. 🙁
Just wondering if Imperfect Women would like to do a recipe swap for fun deal! You give me an american recipe that’s unique and I’ll give you an Aussie one (I’m thinking Pavlova at this moment). Cook it up, family taste test and results! What do you think ladies?
I finally got around to taking the Christmas decorations and tree down today. I am having a serious allergic reaction now and it was a fake tree. Go figure. Go Steelers! I Hope.
By the way Mumbear9, we will be mailing you a bag. They are all going in the mail this week.
.
Let me tell Pattypie about your suggestion. Sounds good to me.
Hi lynn,
.
We took our tree down this past week. I think our poll tomorrow is about taking down the tree and lights. I am never one to leave mine up.
.
You must be allergic to plastic.
Maybe. I didnt have this problem putting it up but oh man am I sneezing and blowing now. But hopefully it will be done in a few days and not turn into a full fledge cold.
I don’t know, lynn. I just am getting over a really bad case of the respiratory flu. Many of my relatives have it also and they live 2,000 miles away. I guess it is really going around. I think I am over the worst part but it lasted for almost a week. Still feel like crap.
Did it come about in a matter of minutes or did you feel it coming a few days? I was fine until I started undecorating the tree.
Well that would be allergies. But mine did not come on in a matter of days. It just hit me and hit me hard. Worst sore throat I have ever had. I could not even swallow.
I figured it out. It has to be christmas all year.
Yuck I hope I dont get that. P.S. I hope we see your Packers and my Steelers playing the SuperBowl again. But I dont think the Steelers will do it this year.
You know, I don’t really have that gut feeling that the Packers are going to pull it off either. Things went to well this year. Last year we had to fight our way to the Super Bowl. I would love to make it there, don’t get me wrong.
.
Good luck to you and your Steelers.
Do you do Christmas In July? It’s growing in popularity here! It’s our COLD month and so people pretend it’s a cold Christmas and do the whole Turkey dinner and tree thing! some fun midyear I guess. Different countries, timezones, recipes…. all so interesting. 🙂 Goodnight all.
Want to hear a gut feeling? The Steelers are playing against the Broncos this week in the playoffs. I have mixed feelings about that.
Mumbear9, no my family has never celebrated Christmas in July. Our big 4th of July celebration is the big thing. It is all about summer and summer foods at that point.
.
Lynn, my husband says the Steelers will win.
.
Goodnight ladies. I need to get to bed. Losing steam.
Mumbear,
I would love to share some recipes with you. I buy an extra turkey in November to cook up in Spring. Cheaper that way.
Night Pam. I hope so. But the Broncos are something else these days and Ben is really hurting along with a few other key plzyers on the Steelers team.
Oh, goodness, I have to go back to work tomorrow. I know, I know – first world problems – but I have the feeling getting up tomorrow morning is going to be brutal.
Goog luck Jennie. We have to go back too after 2 1/2 weeks.
My husband always wants to keep the tree up until New Years Day.(something about watching football with a tree. Who knows…) I always want to take it down day after Christmas, so this year, I took all the ornaments off the tree and packed them away with all the decorations and left the tree up with just the lights till new years.
My husband was NOT amused.
Mumbear9
That’s a great idea on the recipe swap! Let me think on it and figure it out!
Hello all! Usually we take our tree down the day after New Years. It’s still up though .. too much sickness going around. 2012 is starting off a little bumpy for us. Garage door stopped working so we went to Sears and had to buy a new one.. $150 later…
On our way home from Sears we stopped at a tire place so I could get my tire fixed (it had a slow leak). One of the lug nuts was frozen on so they had to force it off, which stripped it. Turns out I needed a whole new tire too. $65 later they tell me that we also need a new valve thingy that has to do with the pressure monitor… $100 later … We made it home. I thought school resumed today. Nope. Got to the bus stop with a grumpy 10 year old who wanted 1 more day off….no bus… lot empty. OOPPS.. school starts tomorrow. So that’s been my 2012 so far… I hope no more bumps!
Sorry to hear about your bumps, Mojito! I bought a garage door opener at Sears on New Year’s Day too. I can’t believe what they charge to install them. But the good thing was I ended up with enough reward points to replace the hand mixer I broke on Christmas morning…and it was FREE! WOO HOO FOR ME!
Got to the bus stop with a grumpy 10 year old who wanted 1 more day off….no bus… lot empty. OOPPS.. school starts tomorrow. -Mo
.
OK, I am SO GLAD to read that another mom did this! About 4 years ago, I got my son up and drove a HALF HOUR to his school (I know, I know, I am like Kate Gosselin with the school commute.) I DROPPED him off at the entrance and left. 5-10 minutes later, I got a call from him saying the school was locked and nobody was there. This is not in the greatest neighborhood, safety-wise. There’s my son, tie on, dress pants, pacing in front of a locked building. Oops!
lynn, how did it go for you? I forgot to set my alarm and totally overslept. Not exactly my finest moment. I guess I *really* didn’t want to come back!
Hi everyone, just trying out this new feature. We installed a new feature that lets you sign in using your Twitter, Facebook or Google account.
You can still leave comments the old way also.
Trying now from my Google Account. Just checking things out.
Just checking this new feature out. 🙂
LOL Ann, I have a feeling it happens to lots of moms…they just don’t admit it!
just playing around w/ the new features… Nice job!
I hate January. January means audits and this year promises to be EPIC as far as audits go and I’m not looking forward to it. I want a new job or a new boss, which one of these audits may give me (new boss I mean) but I am still filled with anxiety over it.
me too!
Everyone make sure you check out the video of the day that I just posted with the two cats in it. Too funny!
Just wondering if anyone else saw the Youtube video of Cayce Anthony. SHe explains how things are looking up for her and that she adopted a dog. I’m sorry, but I still believe she is quilty of killing her baby and should be in isolation the rest of her life. It’s like she is preparing people that she will have served her probation time and will be ready to meet the world again.
I have not seen that video yet, Roozerdo. I believe she is guilty too. She might be ready to meet the world but the world probably has a whole different perspective about it.
Anyone see the the funny about Jon wanting to moderate a political debate. I wonder if his major concern would be pee pads for dogs, just saying. Ck. out Ms Goody twitter.
Saw Casey Anthony video on the Today Show, that’s some scary stuff she was ranting on. She has cut her hair and has gone blonde.
Kmom2, good luck with your audits. I am not a fan of January myself.
Jan. means cold weather, short days, and getting the taxes together. Also, I have to order more heating fuel, it’s no fun to play outside with the dog, someone is always sick. Also, mid-terms, ice, shoveling snow, report cards, and some wearying testing we do at school. Ugh. And a mammogram.
Snickers, I’ll have to check out Ms. Goody’s twitter. It must be a joke?
How do I look signing in from Twitter?
Ann, you look lovely signing in from Twitter – Twitter agrees with you!
.
Today’s video is adorable. I can totally imagine my cats doing that.
.
I liked today’s poll too. I’m surprised so many people never watched “Friends”! I said Phoebe, though honestly I liked them all but Ross. Ross was annoying.
P.S. I should change my avatar, but I am holding on to the holiday spirit a bit longer with my festive, angry elf-cat.
Jennie,
Your still cute!!
Aw, you’re making me blush!
I love the avatar, Jennie. My cat at home is starting to play with my dog outside. I toss the ball, the dog chases the ball, the cat lies in wait hiding behind something ready to pound on the poor pup. Winnie, the dog, takes the longest possible route back to avoid the surprise attack.
Oh My!!! I am crying now. What the bleep just happened in the Steeler/Bronco game? I can not believe this.
Ann, that is adorable.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone here watch Downton Abbey on PBS?
I’m not a football fan, but I do love words. I understood the verb to “Tebow” to mean “to drop on one’s knee in prayer to God publicly.” Am I now to understand that there is a companion definition of the word to “Tebow” which means “to burn a formidable opponent with an 80 yard pass in overtime?”
Nova: Does anyone here watch Downton Abbey on PBS?
YES!!!!
There at least three of us! Jennie and Anya were both tweeting their excitement this weekend. It is one of the most BEAUTIFUL productions on TV. I LOVE the costumes. But the acting, script, sets are just as good. What did you think Nova? Should we discuss?
I’d love too! But I have not watched last nights show yet. I have it recorded just need to find some time.
Love, love that show. They had a piece about it on NBC news with Brian williams tonight. They showed the estate that it is filmed at. Talked about how the show is addicting and that the third season starts filming next month.
I am Anya and I’m a #DowntonAbbey addict! Ann, I did go a little crazy on Twitter, didn’t I?
.
I think it’s fantastic that Downton Abbey has caught on the way it has. I am a little surprised actually. Quite a few people I wouldn’t expect to be into it are.
.
I have to say as much as I like reality TV, Downton Abbey is a very nice diversion from some of the ugly (often fake) drama and maliousness that many of these shows specialize in and seem to encourage among their viewers. How refreshing to have a show with so many likeable (but authentic) characters. As Ann mentioned, it is so beautifully done and I love learning more about this time period.
.
I have always liked Maggie Smith, but honestly I don’t know if it would be the same without the Dowager Countess and her one liners!!!
Nova, let us know when you have watched Sunday’s show so we can discuss.
Yes, Downton Abbey is super-awesome. I love the characters. Are others pro- or anti-Mary? I have to say I find her hard to warm up to – I have some sympathy for her as a woman constricted by her class and the time she lived in. But she’s so cold and proud. I prefer Sybil.
.
Though my favorite character is the Dowager Countess. OMG, I love Maggie Smith! “I hate Greek drama…when everything happens offstage.”
Help! I need Disney World advice! Any recomendations for off site resorts that will accommodate a family of 5? Also, we are doing the 7day pass, do we need the park hopper option? My kids are 3,5,& 13. 13yo is not a fan of big rides so WD will be geared more to the 3&5yo with the promise of a shopping trip for her.
Am I now to understand that there is a companion definition of the word to “Tebow” which means “to burn a formidable opponent with an 80 yard pass in overtime?”
Ann,
In 11 seconds no less. I am still shaking my head over that.
I am pro- Mary. I like. Sybil, but that middle daughter? Yuck
I have only ever stayed on the property momsby. We would plan on one day of rest at the fabulous resort, and we always Gog park hopper passes. We’d go early, rest in the room or swim in the afternoon, then go to another lark in the evening. We never got 7 days. We always planned a rest day.
.
HAVE. FUN!
Momsby, Sounds like so much fun. I haven’t been in years, but keep planning to take my last little one some time. I hope you find lots of info, I don’t have any since it’s been awhile. One thing we did like to do, was alternate days between amusement parks (Universal was our favorite) and water parks. It was nice to have a relaxing and fun water day in between the hustle and heat of the amusement parks.
I am a wee bit disappointed we can’t stay on site. Love my family, but the thought of the 5 of us spending 10 days in one room *shudders*1 Next time we’ll start planning earlier, not leave it until a few weeks before.
Pass Hopper & Water Parks when it’s hot & we need a break…check. One thing of my list. Thanks Ladies 🙂
We have a new contest called $50 Friday. You can win up to $100. Check it out here.
https://imperfectwomen.com/50-friday-is-here/
It only lasts one day so take advantage. This week it is Google Plus. On other Fridays it will be Facebook and Twitter follows.
Good Morning everyone, Hope you are having a good start to your weekend. I hear the weather has turned cold in the Midwest and east coast. Anyone care to update a weather report in their area?
Eastern PA: Sunny, cold, less but still windy. PERFECT weather for a border collie who loves climbing hills and sustained ball-chasing.
.
We had a huge snowstorm on Halloween this year, and haven’t seen a flake since. The weather has been milder than normal, which is nice when the gas/electric bill is due. However, I also invested in passes for one of my kids to go snowboarding, and I would hate for her not to get some nice quality snow-time. They can’t make snow unless it’s below 28 degrees Fahrenheit. So it’s all good on the mountain now.
Good morning.
We are receiving snow this morning, have not seen any since Oct either. They say temps in the 30’s and all clear for next week. We need the moisture, so no one is complaining. It’s very light and fluffy, so glad the winds are very calm.
We’ve had some crazy weather lately – freezing in overnight and upper 70’s during the day.
We are half way through the school basketball season, my daughters team is in 4th place in our district, I think there’s 8 or 9 teams in our district this year. Its been really nice only having 1 child playing 1 sport for the last 4 weeks but soccer sign up was today for the little ones and kickball and t-ball sign up will be later this month.
Hope everyone has a nice Saturday afternoon, we’ve rearraged furniture in 2 bedrooms and cleaned out a few closets.
Tim Tebow better start “Tebowing” it in the second half. Although I have seen him doing alot of amazing things at the end of the game. So who knows.
We need some magic… LETS GOOOO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I am actually rooting for the Broncos because they beat my Steelers which I find amazing.
Im amazed they beat them the Steelers too! lol
I am pulling for you but I think you are going to need a miracle.
I think you’re right…
I rooted for the Steelers last week and they lost. I rooted for the Saints this week and they lost. I was rooting for Broncos but I think I will try for reverse psychology and rooting for the Patriots. Think it will work?
My magic 8 ball says negatory ghostrider.
I turned the game off. Maybe that will help. Never know game not over yet
Tommorrow I am rooting for the Ravens and the Giants. Lets watch them lose.
I’m so sad.
The Broncos really did good this year. I am sad they beat my Steelers!!!! Always next year. I have a feeling we wont be seeing the last of Tebow.
Woohoo! The 49ers won! They almost gave me a heart attack first, but they did win…
Congrats to your 49ers!
What a game, Jennie. What a game. Congratulations! I am very nervous today for the Packers. I don’t think they are going to pull this one off.
Well the Packers lost and that sucked but what are you going to do. Anyone watching the Golden Globes tonight?
Mojito, I was sorry that the Broncos couldn’t pull off another upset. I think the majority of America was rooting for them and Tebow. I think Lynn is right though – we will be seeing more of both!
.
Pam, boo, hiss! I’m surprised you called that one because I thought the Packers had it in the bag. It just seemed like it wasn’t their day. I felt really bad for the coach who lost his son this week and was there. I wanted them to win for him.
.
Even though I have to say I’m a bandwagon jumper, the one thing I’m happy about is the Niners will get home field advantage next week. It should be an interesting game, but I don’t know if anything will compare to the win against the Saints. That was just an unbelievably entertaining game that went our way.
WOO HOO!!!! I just got the most beautiful purple bag in the mail that says Imperfect Women on it! I LOVE IT! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to use it!!!!
——–
Pam, sorry about your Packers. I was rooting for them.
I really thought it was going to be the Steelers and Packers again in the Superbowl. I guess we are all disappointed unless you are a 49ers fan.
Kmom2, So glad that you got your bag!
.
Thanks about the Packers. Just wasn’t their year.
Who watches #DanceMoms?
I watch Dance Moms but I’m a season behind
Does anyone know if this internet blackout thing is going to disrupt the bloggers?
I first heard of the documentary Paradise Lost from GDNNOP, I think. Anyway, they recently aired part 3 on HBO. Anyone watch?
.
Hope everyone is staying warm. Where I live, it is -40. That’s the same in Celcius and Farenheit. Brrr.
Oh, also, is anyone on Pinterest? Man, that place is addictive.
I received this email today. I am going to post the info here for anyone interested.
.
Hi Pam
Many Americans remain confused about Islam and Muslims in America in the wake of anti-mosque protests, anti-Shariah legislation and related controversies. Starting at 7:30 pm EST tonight, we¹re hosting a town-hall style program where a live audience and online viewers will have an opportunity to ask hard questions to leading authorities on Muslim Americans, religious liberty, and interfaith relations.
I believe you and the readers of imperfectwomen will be interested in sharing, watching, and discussing:
http://myfellowamerican.us/newseum
I would love it if you could share the webcast and post or tweet about it. If you do, please let me know. And please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you so much.

Teresa….. yes it is very addictive!
Teresa E. I am dying to see Paradise Lost 3, but I don’t have the channel. It might have been me that you remember mentioning it on GDNNOP. I tried to keep up with it since I saw the first one. I was so surprised at the way they were freed, I was thinking another trial was their only hope. It’s such a horrible story and so many victims. I am hoping the best for the WM3.
I watched Paradise Lost 3 over the weekend. Very good, though I don’t think it really broke any new ground for those who really know about the case.
.
I do worry about the three men who’ve been freed. Because of the Alford Plea, they could go back to prison if they commit a criminal offense and have to serve out their sentences (I’m not sure what would happen with Damien Echols, since his sentence was death). I doubt 18 years in prison does much to improve one’s social skills and ability to cope, and though I have no reason to think any of them will commit a crime, the stakes are just so high and I have to believe they are all damaged because of what they were put through. It’s very sad.
Anyone in to football today? I am taking the Ravens although I think New England will win. Second game I will be cheering for the 49ers.
.
Football Sundays are almost over with. Next week a break and then on to the Super Bowl.
So the Superbowl is 2 weeks away? Good. I am not into the game, but we were invited to a party. So many people said they couldn’t make the party that our friends moved it to the day before. The Superbowl starts too late for us to be out on a school night (well if our kids were younger.) So we will be home for the game (commercials) and eating Superbowl food the day before!
What is pinterest? I am a bit nervous to even look!
I agree, Ann. The Super Bowl is on too late. I have seen pinterest mentioned a lot but haven’t taken the time to check it out yet.
So what do you make for SB Sunday, Pam?
It varies each year and depends on the number of people. Dips, salsas, chips, veggies, crackers and cheese. Maybe a ham one year for sandwiches or sloppy joes. Burgers on the grill. Lots of desserts. We change it each year. Sometimes we will get pizza .
.
Back in the late 90’s when the Packers went to the Super Bowl and won I bought huge bags of peanut m$ms and picked the green and yellow ones out only. Yes, I wore gloves when I did it. Everything was green and gold.
Wow Pam, I like the Packers but you are one devoted fan..
Sage, isn’t she? 🙂
.
Cheering for the Ravens and Niners too. I’d love to see the Harbaugh brothers compete against each other in the Super Bowl. We will see though. I agree NE is tough although as of the 3rd quarter, the Ravens are hanging in there. I’m trying to not get my hopes up about the Niners.
.
Ann, Pinterest? I swear I haven’t heard of it 3 weeks ago and now it’s everywhere. I don’t totally “get it”, but I believe it’s a site where you can pin various photos and other images and share them with others….Yep, I’m staying away. I don’t need it and would much rather read or participate on IW!
The story of the WM3 is a very sad story all around. Three men spent 18 years of their lives in prison for a crime they didn’t commit. Three young boys were horrifically murdered and they and their families didn’t receive justice as the real killer is probably walking around. Jennie, it never occured to me that they might have a hard time staying on the straight and narrow. I just figured they were home free but that is a real concern. I wish them luck. Well, I learned what an Alford plea was.
.
Ann, Pinterest is an online pinboard in which people contribute anything of interest in various topics like DIY and crafts, recipes, hair and makeup etc. I’ve found a lot of neat projects to do with the kids like homemade Flubber and bouncy balls, homemade finger paints and easy science experiments to do at home. I like some of the clever ideas for the home like storing all your bed linens in their matching pillowcases or turning an old crib into a child’s desk. It’s just awholebunch of neat ideas in one place.
Thanks for the explanation, Teresa. I was wondering, too. I’ve been hearing a lot about it. Sometimes I feel like a Luddite; I just can’t handle one more kind of social media that I have to understand and possibly participate in. Is Foursquare out now? I never got into that. There seems to be something creepy and/or self-obsessed about letting the world know where you are at any given moment.
I feel the same way, Jennie. I am th ekind of mother who will not let her kids have smart phones or even upgrade if their phone is in perfectly good working order. Life is so complicated by this stuff.
.
My own mother resisted the information age until she and Pop got an iPad. It’s a shock to have your mother say, “No, the OTHER icon,” when you open the wrong thing. I teased her about all those years she could have been monitoring our emails….but she reminded me that in the 80s, she planned on sitting out until it got easy enough for her to use. Steve Jobs, if Mom can use your iPad, anyone can.
I think I’ll give pinterest a few more months until it becomes a necessity or it passes.
HMMM. Overtime. What happens if noone gets a touchdown in the next 15 mins? Does anyone know?
Lynn, not sure. I guess we didn’t have to find out!
.
Congrats to the Giants and Patriots. See you in the Super Bowl! Congrats also to the Ravens and 49ers who had fantastic seasons to be proud of.
I really wished there was other teams going to the superbowl. But oh well. Im just going to watch it now just for something to do.
Does anyone have a stand mixer, pasta maker and deep fryer they can recommend? Looking into all them and if someone can help me I would appreciate your input.
Lynn….I have a Ktichen Aide stand mixer. It seems to work nicely. I like being able to turn it on and do something else (quickly) if need be. Sorry can’t help you out with the pasta maker or deep fryer.
Yeah, Kitchen Aid mixers are great – and they come in a bunch of lovely colors! They are a bit pricey but worth it. I kind of want a new one; I got mine as a gift years ago and was given a white one. I want a pretty spring green or snazzy red one!
Oh and Lynn…..you can get a pasta maker attachment for the Kitchen Aid mixer….2 birds with one stone perhaps?
I absolutely love my kitchen aide mixer. Love it.
I also love my Kitchen Aide mixer, I have an pld one, almond color. Would love a new color too, but as long as the old one works, she’s still my best friend.
Can I ask what model you all have? I was thinking the artisan but Hubs says he wants something with more horsepower for the breads and donuts. Typical male.
I want a stand up mixer soooooooooo bad. You guys are killing me with all this mixer talk… Hmmmm.. anniversary is coming up. Is it wrong to ask for a kitchen appliance as a wedding anniversary gift??? LOL
Mojito…I’d rather ASK for a kitchen appliance as a wedding anniversary gift and get it, than NOT ASK for it and get it….lol lol lol lol
LOL Good point, Kmom! I think I might put it on the list…we’ll see what happens. Hubby is kind of a tight wad. 😉
I don’t think you can go wrong with a Kitchen Aid. I see them on all the cooking shows so they must be good and I love mine. Not only can you get a pasta maker attachment but I think you can also get a sausage maker attachment. I have a Kitchen Aid Ultra Power whatever that means. I only ever use it for cookies, never tried bread or donuts but Im sure it would be awesome for that too.
.
I have a Sunbeam 2L deep fryer. It’s pretty good but I have nothing to compare it to. It has a lid that latches closed and temperature settings for different foods as well as a timer. It comes with a basket that has a handle so you can put things in and out easily. And it has an indicator light that tells you when the oil is ready. The thing I don’t like about it is its hard to claen because the oil pot doesn’t come out. So you basically have to lift up the whole thing to pour the oil out then you can’t even put it in the sink or dishwasher. You have to wipe it out.
.
Hope that helps.
Mo and Kmom2,
My kitchen aide is over 20 years old, and works great. I can’t find an excuse to use to get a new colored one. Any ideas??? 🙂
Heck Snickers….if I could find a good excuse I would trade my almond colored one for a pretty PINK one in a heartbeat! Maybe throw it out of a moving car??? LOL LOL
I hope everyone is able to participate in our contest this Friday. You can win up to #100. All you need to do is go to our post and like the participating blog’s Facebook pages.https://imperfectwomen.com/here-comes-facebook-50-friday/

Ok ladies, make sure you enter our contest https://imperfectwomen.com/50-facebook-friday-is-here/
We went to Sams tonight. Decided to stroll down the appliance aisle and found a Kitchen Aid pro 5. It has a 450 watt motor. They only had about 5 of them left. We said lets wait until next week. Finished shopping and left. Got halfway home and decided lets go back and get one or they will be gone next week. So long story short I got a Kitchen Aid mixer with more wattage than the artisan for $269 + tax and I got it in red. I am happy. That was the cheapest best one we saw anywhere. First order of business with it will be Sat and bagels. If it can survive that it will survive anything.
lynn,
You will love it, I want a new colored one! My almond one is so drab.
I am sad. I think my mixer is defective. The beaters hit the bowl and we adjusted it like we were suppose to. But Kitchen aid customer service is awesome. They are sending us a new machine. Well I had hoped they would considering we have only had it for a day. What is it with me and appliances. Grrrrrr.
New post on ROL about Jon who wants to remain private. He looks like he has a heavy heart along with some heavy pounds.
I posted a new article in Gosselin Chatter
https://imperfectwomen.com/kate-gosselin-in-march-issue-of-runners-world/
Well, here we are at the end of January, my daughter has 3 basketball games left before playoffs, her team is tied for 3rd place (top 4 teams advance to playoffs). My younger kids are signed up for the spring soccer season, it starts in the next week or so, both daughters are signed up for kickball, it starts March 1st, my oldest daughter will go back on to the same team as last year but my younger one moves up to the next age group. My little guy signed up for t-ball again, he hated every minute of it last season but when I asked him he about it he was excited and we’ve practiced a few times, he is actually doing very well and according to him I don’t throw like a girl … very much. Hubby and I have planned a trip to Las Vegas in March, just a short weekend trip for the NASCAR races but we very much need a break from everything and everyone.
stxmom, your life is always so full. Lots of activity. You must have great energy. But I think it is fantastic. I love the whole experience kids get with participating in sports. Let us know how your daughter does.
Cannot believe we are at the end of Jan. Where did this month go? Our weather here in Nashville is been so odd for this time of year. Cold one day then in the 60’s the next. So far no snow here and hope it stays away. Just counting down the days till spring. Then on to summer. Hoping to go down to Panama City this summer for a week.Just hang out at the beach and be lazy.
Hey Snickers, It was on another thread, but I wanted to say hope things are good at home and that your DH is doing well.
Thanks Lily, things are getting better everyday.
