My husband loves technology. He also loves looking at and watching movies, YouTube videos, live TV and photos from his many devices. There was one point when he was getting confused and a bit frustrated with using all of his different devices until he found the Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player.

Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player – What is it?
The Google Chromecast is a streaming media player. That means it lets you watch videos, listen to music, play games, and use other types of apps from the Internet on your TV. You find the content you want to watch/listen to or play on your Android or iOS mobile device or your Chrome browers and then you “cast” it to your TV through the player.
How does the Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player work?
Plug Chromecast into the HDMI port on your TV to power and stream your favorite entertainment right from your phone with just a tap. Watch shows, listen to playlists, and more. And while streaming, you can still use your phone as you normally do.
It also works with the streaming apps you know and love!
My husband enjoys all of his TV shows, movies, videos, songs, games, sports (especially sports!) and more from over 2000 apps like Netflix, YouTube, YouTube TV, and HBO NOW.
Start streaming with just your voice.
This is probably my husband’s favorite feature! He can just say what he wants to watch and control the TV hand-free with compatible apps. Chromecast and Google Home work seamlessly together. When he wants to watch House of Cards he just says…”Ok Google, play House of Cards from Netflix on my media room TV. It is just as simple as that!
Upgrade your TV for less
The great thing about this device is that you can expand your home entertainment without buying a new TV. It’s so affordable you can get one for every TV in the house.
High-speed wireless connectivity
Built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi connects to the Internet through your wireless home network (wireless router required and sold separately).
Compatible with your existing HDTV
Easily connects to high-definition televisions with HDMI connectivity.
A few things to note: Subscriptions are required to view some content. Google Home, Chromecast, and compatible content required to cast to a TV using Google Home. Web-based services and content require high-speed Internet service. Some services may require a subscription.
You can not go wrong for only $35! Head on over to Best Buy and get a Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player ( or 2 or 3) for your home so that you can start streaming your favorite entertainment on your TV from all of your family’s devices.
I definitely need a Google Chromecast. I’m tired of streaming movies on my laptop or tablet!
We have 3 and we love them! we even travel with them. They are so awesome since we don’t have cable!
I am glad that you shared this, I had wondered about getting it as we don’t have cable in our new place. I don’t plan on getting cable either. I do have a Netflix and Amazon Prime account though as well as enjoy watching some documentaries on YouTube, would be nice to cast those to the TV using this.
First time hear about it but it this device sounds really good I will definitely check this out.
These sound like such great things to have around the house! It’s crazy what technology can do these days. I think I need one for my basement!
We stream pretty much everything. We have gotten rid of cable all together and don’t really see the need for it anymore.
This would be perfect for us! A few of our tvs are older and aren’t smart tvs and can’t connect to the internet on their own.
This speaks to ME – “Start streaming with just your voice.” I agree with your husband….this would be the best feature for me too. Now, I need to get one. I have always wanted to live like the Jetsons…and this is one step closer….next up, I want a bed that makes itself…
so interesting,,i wouldnt even know how to begin to do this,,but i bet my 13 yr old grandson knows about it
what a interesting post,,i dont know if im tech savvy enought to do this but i could get my teenage grandson to help me
I looked at all the competitors and this is definitely the best deal. They are all much more expensive and do mostly the same thing.
