In an announcement that’s not exactly stunning, TLC issued a press release this morning stating that beginning November 2nd, the family reality show will be retitled “Kate Plus 8”:
“Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family. The family has evolved and we are attempting to evolve with it; we feel that Kate’s journey really resonates with our viewers.” – Eileen O’Neill, President of TLC
The program will continue to portray the Gosselin’s life raising 5-year-old sextuplets and 8-year-old twins, but it will also focus more attention on Kate’s role as a single mother.
Despite the new title, TLC proclaims Jon will continue to appear on the show, just less frequently. (Hmm. We will see about that).
TLC also announced it’s developing a new project for Kate to premiere in 2010.
