I am such a bookworm and I love giving people books for Christmas and birthday!
This infograph is so cute and true! Books do make great gifts!
I think this is especially true when giving gifts to children! They receive so many electronics and stuff, and many kids may not get the experience of reading for pleasure. There are so many fun and novel (not novel, like the type of book, but novel, like interesting) books out there for kids. And you can write a special message inside so they think of you every time they read it!
We are huge book people. We own hundreds, and every year we donate boxes of already read books to the local prison, and start over collecting. I buy multiple books for my kids’ Christmas each year because I am a firm believe that fostering reading, writing and SPELLING is super important!
Ha! That infographic is hilarious and so true! One thing, though. They’re not always easy to wrap! When my sister was young, she accidentally tore the dust jacket on one of her books as she was opening its wrapping on Christmas morning. So my mom learned to warn us if we needed to open a gift slowly! haha
I have a love-affair with books. I find them expensive, so I go to the library usually, but they’re great as presents.
Some of my most treasured keepsakes are books I got for Christmas and/or my birthday given to me by Santa and eventually my mom and dad. They mean so much to me.
I love both giving AND getting books as gifts – they are the best!
Let’s go a step further. I think e-books are the ideal gift–that is if the recipient has an e-reader. I love e-books because the price is so amazingly good, and your bookshelves don’t get filled up with so many books. I have been organizing my kindle, and I have downloaded so many free e-books, I am amazed at what you can get!
I agree, Ruth. I have to say one of the big pluses of e-books is the fact that they don’t take up space. That said, I haven’t totally given up my addiction to paper books and I like giving and receiving them.

I love this infographic. What an adorable owl. And I have to agree, books are one of the few things this time of year that don’t have calories! 😉
I like getting books for Christmas! I like to read and I always ask others for books, and I give them a few that I would love to get. It really is fun to give books as gifts too. I hope I got some for Christmas this year!
Love this info graphic! I myself am an unrepentant book addict. Anyone who can’t decide what gift to get for me need only check out my massive TBR/Wishlist.
