Have any of you played the game Scruples? A scruple is a doubt or hesitation that troubles the conscience or that comes from the difficulty of determining whether something is right. We can’t actually play the game on the internet but we thought it would be fun to ask and answer questions involving a moral dilemma that you might face one day or quite possibly already have had to face. Answer truthfully or not, we don’t care. Our goal is just to have fun, get to know each other a little better and have good conversation.
Here are three:
- Your child’s teacher asks him/her if you “helped” write a book report ( because of the obvious superior quality). Your child says no even though you did. You see the teacher the next day during Back To School night and she asks you the same question with your child present. What do you say?
- Someone drops a $20 bill on the floor. Do you try to find the owner or do you keep the $20?
- You are a new waiter in a restaurant. You see the cook drop a steak on the floor, pick it up and place it on a plate for another waiter to serve. You say something to the cook and he begs you not to say anything because he is in jeopardy of getting fired because of previous poor work habits. He also tells you he has three kids at home to feed. What do you do?
