DWTS – Have You Been Watching?

“Dancing with the Stars: The Results Show” (9:00-10:00 p.m.) took 2nd in its time slot Tuesday night and continues to trend ahead of its performance from a year ago.

Last night, Audrina Patridge and partner Tony Dovolani were the 6th couple this season to get the boot and their elimination left many viewers shocked. Apparently even the judges appeared surprised especially since they had received the second highest score of the night on Monday.

“I’m almost at a loss for words,” judge Len Goodman said on learning that Patridge and actress Jennifer Grey were the two targeted for elimination. “It’s ludicrous. For one of these two to be going home is absolute nonsense.”

Share with us who you think will win of the remaining six contestants and how you feel about last nights elimination results.

Tony and Audrina were also on Jimmy Kimmel last night and you can watch that interview below.

IMO, she should have never been ranked second. The judges critique of her dancing did not match the scores they gave her.

I was not surprised by her elimination. She is pretty and thin, but her dancing was not smooth, she looked stiff and lacked excitement. Her eyes looked empty. The dancers left are fun to watch and are truly trying to entertain the viewers.

If Jennifer can dance the remaining shows as she did the tango, I think she will win.

I do not think Tony is a good choreographer. He does not know how to show his partners strengths.

Yes, Audrina seemed like a nice girl, but she got stuck with Tony as a partner and he’s so full of himself it’s sad. According to him, everything is the judge’s fault, never his. They’ve got other pros, I don’t know why they keep using him to partner with the contestants.

I’m still voting for Bristol, all the way. She’s what the show is supposed to be about……..a complete novice learning to ballroom dance. She’s fun to watch and is the only ‘real’ person on the show….IMHO.

I kind of liked Audrina and Tony. But I like most of the remaining contestants. I’m kinda eh on Brandy, so I root for Jennifer even though her neuroses sort of get on my nerves. I like Kurt, Kyle, Rick…can’t think of the others now but I do like most of the people and am glad there isn’t an obvious front-runner (ringer) like Nicole last season.

Last season was the first time I had ever watched the show. I watched this season out of curiosity to see Tony with a different partner. I agree with GeeWhiz, I don’t think Tony is that great of a choreagrapher compared to the other dancers.

I don’t think that Audrina and Tony connected but I was still surpised to see them eliminated. I think that Bristol gets scores higher than she deserves and thought she should have been the one elimanted.

Tony had been my favorite pre-Kate, more for his friendly and gentlemanly demeanor than anything else. Whether fair or not, he suffered in my eyes because I felt like he did not support Kate as he could have, even if she was difficult or at least going through difficult times. I watched some of his tweets and facebook activity, and just felt like he could have come out long ago and said something short, sweet, and definitive about Kate and ask people to move on. He may have, and I just missed it. Anyway, it made me view him differently. I do think he is trying to deflect converation away from Kate lately, but he still gets subtle jabs in (IMO), as seen on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

I commented on a different thread about DWTS this year, but in short, I thought Audrina had not lived up to early potential because of her lack of passion in her dancing. I enjoy seeing Jennifer/Derek and Kyle/Lacey the most, but am leaving my mind open for others.

I mentioned on another thread that I was somewhat disappointed in Tony post DWTS. He doesn’t have to be friends with Kate or even like her but I also thought he was somewhat coy in his responses and could have responded differently. Especially since he is a professional. What did they say, he has had nine partners so far? Has he kept in touch with all of them. He could have just responded that it is tough keeping in touch with all of his past partners or something in general.

However, I still enjoy Tony and his personality and I would like to see him win one season.

I was kinda hoping Audrina and Tony were going to get a few more weeks in. I think she was growing on me.

I thought Jennifer would be the winner (because Jimmy Kimmel predicted it and he’s been pretty accurate…:)) Anyhow, I am rooting for Kurt Warner. I think he’s progressed nicely and as a non-dancer.

I saw Audrina and Tony on GMA the other morning and Elizabeth Vargas made a remark saying something like “it’s not like your run from last year” or something like that. He got defensive and said “Kate had a lot on her plate” and actually, I thought stuck up for her.

But, I did miss Audrina & Tony on Jimmy Kimmel the other night and forgot to DVR it! I hate when that happens. 🙂

I just watched the video of Audrina’s mother’s interview where she had way too much to drink. Yikes! She kept saying she doesn’t usually drink so that might have explained some of it but she just kept going and it just kept getting worse. I feel bad for Audrina but I think her mom just had a lot of stuff to get off her chest. LOL

I liked Audrina and Tony, and didn’t think they should be eliminated. I don’t have a clear favorite. I am beginning to think Derek is the deciding factor. He is an incredible choreographer!

Oh Pam, I just saw that video of Audrina’s mom. I agree…she got a lot off her chest! I had to laugh when she said “Kurt Russell”. 🙂

I caught that too, Theresa. I said wait a minute, Kurt Russel? I didn’t know he was on this season. Then I remembered where I saw Kurt Warner was in it. I think I saw where they said she came out with an apology for some of the things she said.

I also watched the video of Audrina’s mother and read her apology. IMO, she did not really apologize, she tried to excuse her rant by saying she reacted to her child being hurt. I think she should have apologized to Lauren Conrad and the other Hill’s cast members for calling them tramps. They had nothing to do with Audrina not getting votes from the public. It is obvious her mother and possibly Audrina are jealous of Lauren’s success (clothing line, two NY Times best selling books, a new reality show, quite a few magazine covers). What they both should remember is the only reason Audrina is known is because Lauren agreed to do a show about her life. I guess her mother forgot that Audrina is the only Hill’s cast member that has nude pictures on the internet.

A lot of interesting comments so far.

Audrina'a mother - oy vey! I love how people commented that Kate didn't (apparently) have family members in the audience when she was on the show. I think Kate treated DWTS like a j-o-b. Most of us don't bring our relatives to work. In hindsight, Audrina should have left Mom at home. LOL.

I have mixed feelings about Tony. Basically, I think he is a good guy. I think he may not have really clicked with Kate. I think he is probably also tired about being asked about her 24/7. Does anyone still ask about his other previous partners? I am sure he has some ego - don't they all? I don't think he deserved to go this early, but it is what it is - a good part of the show is popularity and Audrina didn't have enough fans calling in.

I am watching less this season. I have not really voted either. I do have several phones and email accounts (used for Kate previously) ready to go! I like Kyle (so positive), Kurt (cute!) and Bristol (out of her element, but improving) the best. I am kind of meh on Brandy and Jennifer - even if they are "the best."

I wish that the next season, the professional dancers will realize (or they should be told) that it’s not about them, but the “stars”. I missed last week’s show, and this week in recaps, man I wanted to slap Maks. He needs to check his ego at the door. Throwing that fit and disrespecting Carrie Anne was uncalled for.
