Pet beds designs

Your pet must have often made you proud or made you laugh in times of sorrow or just lightened your mood with his funny habits. This is the story of every pet owner. If some animals are lucky to reserve space for themselves in home and hearts of gracious animal lovers, the pet owner is lucky too, to have such a selfless and ever loving companion. Pets are kids who never grow up!

Recently, an article in a leading dog magazine about the crazy but fun ideas about pet bedding caught my attention. Yes, pet beds; a place where your fur ball can have a comfortable nap. These are essentially the sitting as well as sleeping areas of your pet. A cozy corner of the house where your pet can enjoy chewing his toy, having an afternoon nap or planning some mischievous ways to impress you. Today many pet stores have sprung up and each one offers various kinds of bedding for dogs. But besides this, in the following article you will come across a few ideas of easy ways of making or offering private, cozy but at the same time fancy sleeping areas for your pet. Pet beds, eating bowls and pet furniture are generally ugly to look at and might not match with the décor of your home. The odd spot of the house might be a cause of concern for especially those with an eye for décor and look.Design-Friendly ideas for pet beds 2

When you decide to make a pet bed by yourself, it offers many benefits like :

  •   You can choose colors and looks to compliments or even enhance the interiors of your house;
  •   You can use material which is otherwise of no more use to you; this may be an economical option;
  •   Making it by yourself adds personal touch and positive feeling to the whole process;

From old clothes and linen

Change is a part of every house. Things get used or are old fashioned and we dump them to get new ones. But with your old linen, shrunk sweaters, old curtains and even used sofa cushions you can put together a comfortable bed for your animal with love. Just mix-n match the old linen from the house, add your creative touch to it and make an outer cover which you can get filled with cotton from an old mattress or any other water proof filling. Making two or three zip covers of varying designs offers a replaceable option when one has to be washed.

For such beds you can even play with shapes; make a round or square mattress with a bone shaped pillow for your pet to play, enjoy and even lay on during his sleepy hours.

From old table top, crate or even suitcaseDesign-Friendly ideas for pet beds 3

If you have any of the above, nothing better! Take any one; open the suitcase wide or keep the crate as it is or use the table top inside out; re-paint, line inside with a cloth and stuff the usable bottom with some cushioning material. For inside walls go free with the choice of colors and designs to match your room’s interiors and re-painting would give it a brand new look.

You can have your pets name or some other fun quote of words written on it to add fun to the interiors of your room. Again, here you can easily use thick old curtains or your old denim to line the inside while filling of used mattress; old sofa cushion or pillow can be used to add comfort to this pet’s area. Works very well for small pets and puppies!

Use your space judiciously

Design-Friendly ideas for pet beds 99While your pet is your all time companion, give him a cozy corner near your work table or in your living room itself. Make it attractive so it goes with the design and color scheme of the place but be equally comfortable for your fuzzy-wuzzy too. The ample space below your work table or lower most drawer of the cabinet or old ottoman in the living room can be easily converted to comfortable nests for your pets. The following pictures will give you an idea of how you can achieve the same.

Not in use fire place or old TV cabinet can also be creatively designed to comfort your furry partner.

Use space below your favorite armchair.

Some pets like staying close to their owner all of the time. To help in same, a kind of swinging bed can be attached to bottom of any broad base chair or arm chair. The stylish bed works well with heavy chairs and ordinary ones and for smaller pets like cats or small breeds of dogs only.Design-Friendly ideas for pet beds 11

These days many pet store owners offer help in re-designing existing pet beds or making customized beds for your pet as directed by you. This an easy option, but if you have time and can to do it yourself, try above tips to add new zing to your pet’s life by designing a creative new cozy corner for him, where he can feel the warmth of your love for him apart from that of the cushioning.

Like there’s no limit to love, there’s no limit or restriction on you mind’s creativity. Take time, look around the house for old, not in use but good in condition stuff and put together all with strings of creativity to offer a great love, fun and warmth filled space for your animal that you love.
