Remember when cupcakes were just a lump of cake with a dollop of icing on top? Those were the good old days weren’t they? There were no silly accessories sticking to the face, sloppy icing hanging off our noses and we had enough change to think about a beverage to go with it!
Now cupcakes come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. From glittery, to flowery to downright outrageous, these cupcakes have become a fashion craze in themselves. Up and down the country, cupcake outlets are opening their doors to sweet toothed customers who become hypnotized by their extravagance.
These fancy cupcakes are now being sold across the world at a fashionable rate. Depending on the amount of glamor you’d like your cupcake to portray, you could be looking at anything from $5 to a 6% APR mortgage!
Now the trend has taken over, wedding cakes are being shunned in favor of giant cupcake creations, and birthday parties are overrun with cake-pops and mini-cupcakes – women across the country are getting together for champagne and cake decorating parties, whilst celebrities and supermodels are jacking in their careers to open up bakeries instead. These sweet treats were seen at every major fashion event last year, and it’s rare to find a fashion glossy or blogger who isn’t in love with the only dessert that can be made to match your outfit.
It seems no one is safe from the cupcake craze, but as long as they taste as good as they look then I’m sure society will cope!
