Something’s Cooking by Meg Lacey

By Jen

What’s cooking is a whole lot of witty banter, sexual innuendo and laughs!  This book played out like a movie in my mind.  Picture this:

Girl makes it big as a contemporary Martha Stewart, but she has secrets.

Boy is a journalist and jealous that Girl has stolen some of his spotlight.

What does Boy do?  Expose the Girl!

What a jerk, right?!  Yes and no… Josh Faraday is a jackass sometimes.  When he was being “Josh the jerk”,  I wanted to smack him upside his smug head.  And then other times, I loved him because he was witting and flirty.  I liked when he used his cocky behavior to flirt with Tess.  I did not like when he was being sneaky and trying to expose Tess as a fraud.

Tess reminded me of a clumsy and smartassed Martha Stewart.  She really is personable and creative, but the lady cannot cook.  Her celebrity status is based on all of her cooking and craft skills… so that’s a problem.   The public doesn’t know there are a few people behind the scenes helping her out.  When Tess gets her own TV show, Josh the jerky and handsome reporter makes sure he gets to interview her.  Both of them experience some heavy instant attraction which makes Tess clumsier than normal and sends Josh slightly off of his “destroy Tess Banyon” mission.

Between Josh trying to figure out what Tess’ secret is, Tess attempting to make her cooking show a success on her own, and a family trying to push Josh and Tess together this story is pretty funny!  It has a good amount of sexy times, but nothing too crazy so if you like a sweet, funny romance with characters that have great personalities then you’ll want to give Something’s Cooking a shot!

    Hi Jen
Thanks for the review. I’m glad you liked “Something’s Cooking.” I had a lot of fun writing it. AND, I agree, it would be a good movie and it does play out like one. LOL

Happy reading, and enjoy Colorado. I’m moving to WA state this summer and I can’t wait to spend some time in your state over the next few years.

Start the posting by explaining why your job is a great opportunity and after that start providing
the important points of location, salary, benefits, working culture and hours.

The reason these places usually are not a good choice to suit your needs is that the designs just weren’t really drawn to
    get implemented as tattoos.

However, within the remote areas and villages, folks are depending on some
traditional Bangla newspapers in order to meet the specific news and information necessities of the local people.
The freeware version may run ads or have restricted functions.

From her former post on CNBC, Bartiromo encapsulated the afternoon’s economic
news on Closing Bell by having an authority befitting a queen.
Instead of returning and searching for him, the
    man continued to operate outside.
