CAUTION: Naughty language ahead… I promise it was necessary!
I think I just got mind-fucked. Scratch that, I know I did. I’m sitting here, with a blank look on my face because I can’t believe what I just read. I have goose bumps that won’t go away. My brain is trying to comprehend what my eyes have read but it’s all just a jumbled up mess. Holy cliffhanger ending, Batman!! Kim Karr is a FREAKING GENIUS. Connected is her debut novel and I can almost guarantee this is going to be HUGE for her! Remember you heard it from me first!
Connected tells us the story of how Dahlia London meets River Wilde. But before we get to the relationship of Dahlia and River we need to meet Ben. Dahlia loves and is loved by Ben. Ben has been her friend and confidant since they were children. Ben is her lover and boyfriend in adulthood. Dahlia loses a lot in her young life and Ben and his family help her through those traumas.
A brief but intense encounter at a college bar between Dahlia and River sets the stage to fast-forward 5 years later. During those 5 years, Dahlia experiences love, heartache and a trauma. When Dahl and River reconnect, the intensity between them is still mind blowing. Their chemistry is electric on every level. I felt like I was watching two souls become one. River is beyond in love with Dahlia and that is never more apparent than when we get to read his point of view in the book. Every girl wants to be loved like River loves Dahlia. Like every couple, they endure a few bumps along the way. When Dahlia has an accident, River realizes he can’t live without her being attached to him in every way possible.
And then we have the cliff-hanger. It’s so mind blowing that I’m having a hard time coming up with the proper words to describe it to you. Mind-fucked is literally the word that keeps rolling around in my head. It’s like Kim Karr wanted to make us feel all lovey-dovey, gooey, and swell and then she took a chair and beat us over the head with it, repeatedly. I wish I could spoil the ending but honestly, it’s the best part of the entire book and I don’t want to ruin it for everyone else.
The sequel to Connected is titled Torn and is scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2013. You better believe I will be 1-clicking it as soon as it released!

I don’t think I’ve ever fell in love before (seeing as I’ve never had a boyfriend) but I do remember my first crush being on this one boy named Jeremy. We used to ride the same bus together and he used to live a street over. I would always deny it whenever my sister would tease me about liking him. I remember one year for Halloween I did not go to his house to ask for candy because I was to shy (My sisters teased me about that too”. Sadly I moved so that was then end of that. I should have that I did talk to him once haha.
