Beyond the Vegas Cliché: How to Have a Unique Las Vegas Wedding

Wedding

Over the years, it’s become a cliché that people go to Las Vegas for a quickie wedding. When people think of a Vegas wedding, they think of a wedding chapel with an Elvis impersonator officiating the ceremony, or the even quicker version of a drive-thru wedding. Las Vegas weddings have always been unique compared to weddings in any other location, but now you can make your wedding unique even in Las Vegas by following these ideas.

A European Wedding in Las Vegas

You can make your Vegas wedding unique by making it feel like a wedding in Europe instead. If you really dreamed of a wedding in Paris but didn’t want to spend all that money, you can get married at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris Las Vegas. The smaller version of the Eiffel Tower offers the scenery and food of Paris. If you prefer Venice to Paris, you can have your wedding on a Venetian gondola in Las Vegas’s replica of the canals of Venice. A gondolier will serenade you and your wedding party as you float down the canal. You can have an imitation Rome wedding in the Venus garden in a Roman-style gazebo surrounded by Roman statues.

Weddings with the Fishes

One way to make your Las Vegas wedding unique is to get water involved, since Vegas is in a desert after all. If you and your partner are scuba certified, you can get married underwater in the Silverton Aquarium’s 117,000 gallon tank with sharks, stingrays, and tropical fish swimming around you. You can even have mermaids for bridesmaids. If you want to get close to fish and sharks, but maybe not that close, you can get married in an aquarium tunnel with the water above and on either side of you. Some hotels offer poolside weddings, so you and your wedding guests can take a refreshing splash after your vows and escape from the heat, especially in the summer.

Las Vegas Weddings

Sign Weddings

Las Vegas is all about the bright lights of the city, so where better to be wed than in front of the signs. Some couples like to get married in front the famous Las Vegas sign leading into the city. It is one of the city’s most iconic locations and you will never forget where your wedding was. Another sign location is the Neon Museum and Boneyard, where you can get married among vintage neon signs. The signs give weddings a vintage and modern flair at the same time.

Wedding

Roller Coaster Wedding

Las Vegas is probably the only place in the world that you can actually get married on a roller coaster. The roller coaster at the New York New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas does weddings. The weddings take place with the roller coaster in motion going a heart pumping 67 miles per hour. The roller coaster takes a 180 degree turn. This wedding ideas is not for the faint of heart, but adrenaline junkies will love it.

A Classy Wedding

With people even getting married in Las Vegas at the Denny’s, a classy Vegas wedding is unique enough to stand out from the rest. Weddings in Las Vegas by Mon Bel Ami offer ceremonies in chapels, gazebos, and pavilions and the Elvis impersonator is optional. Vegas weddings are so known for being cheesy that a classy wedding is refreshing. Even though Las Vegas is called Sin City, you can still have a lovely, elegant wedding there. With Las Vegas’s cheap wedding prices, you can have the formal, tasteful wedding of your dreams without breaking the bank.

Good point! You’re right, there are lots of ways to make your wedding beautiful and unique rather than just saying, “Oh, we went to Vegas!” My friend got married there in a beautiful garden with some gorgeous architecture!

I thought Vegas was simply drive-thrus & little chapels. Those all sound really fun, but there’s no way I would’ve done the underwater one! LOL
