7 Frugal Thanksgiving Hostess Gifts

Will you be attending this year’s Thanksgiving festivities as a guest? If so, a gift for the hostess is always a nice idea. A hostess gift is a great way to show your appreciation, and giving one can be easy and inexpensive. Here are 7 frugal Thanksgiving hostess gift ideas that you can try so you can be sure to show your hostess your gratitude.

Thanksgiving gifts2

1. A bottle of wine or sparkling cider.

You can buy a nice bottle of wine for under $10, and a nice bottle of sparkling soda for well under $5. Add a little ribbon or a bow around the neck of the bottle and you have the perfect hostess gift.

2. A fall scented candle.

Your local dollar stores as well as most discount stores sell fall scented candles, so why not give one to your hostess? You can always wrap some ribbon or twine around it for presentation, or place it in a burlap gift bag.

3. Chocolate.

Chocolate always goes over well as a gift. You can buy an assortment of boxed chocolates, or some chocolate bars. You can even try a bag of wrapped chocolates. Stick a bow on the package and a thank you note and you are all set.

4. Hand lotion.

Some scented hand lotion is a nice way to spoil your hostess for all of her hard work. If you know her favorite scent you can opt for that. If not, try a mellow and not overpowering lotion or moisturizing hand cream. A lip balm or purse mirror is also a nice addition to this gift.

5. A journal.

A decorative journal is a nice gift, and gives the hostess a space to jot down her thoughts and other notes. You can include a decorative bookmark if you wish, and write your note of thanks directly into the journal. Partner this gift with a nice pen for a real treat for your hostess.

6. A picture frame.

People love picture frames. Give your hostess a basic wood or metal frame with the note of thanks placed directly into the frame. They are sure to get some use out of it.

7. A serving dish.

Since you already know your hostess likes to serve and host parties, a nice serving dish might fit the bill. You can find a nice selection at a great price at stores such as HomeGoods or T.J. Maxx.

Show your hostess how much you appreciate her hospitality this Thanksgiving season. A gift from this list is sure to make her smile and feel appreciated, as well as help you stay in budget. Give one of these gifts a try and you can’t go wrong!

I know a bottle of wine is always a welcome gift. This is what I usually bring with me to give the party hostess. A fall scented candle would be great too.

I never bought a hostess gift for someone. I didn’t even think about it, but thinking more about it, it is a good idea. They do a lot of work and a thank you gift goes a long way.
