I love technology – I’m writing this on my laptop and I have my iPhone charging within reach as we speak. (Well, as I speak. I mean type. It’s been a long week.)

One thing I don’t love is all of the cables that technology requires me to keep track of. Kindle cables. Cell phone cables. Laptop cables. Digital camera cables. And so on. I have cables in desk drawers right now and I HAVE NO IDEA what device they belong to. I can’t throw them away, though – obviously they go with *something*.

Also, when I unplug frequently used cables they inevitably slither out of sight and I then need to root around under the furniture to find them. It’s a hassle. As the popular saying goes, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” (I know, my life is *so* hard.)

All this explains why I’m intrigued by the MOS (Magnetic Organization System) Organizer. Starting as low at $19.95, the MOS is an elegant and functional little triangular-shaped piece of plastic (black or white) or anodized aluminum that uses magnetic ties to securely hold your cables in place until you’re ready to use them again. The device can be attached to vertical or horizontal surfaces with either adhesive tape or a suction cup (both options are included, as are three of the magnetic cable ties). Good design + solid function = a great new product (one created last year and apparently funded through a Kickstarter, which I think is kind of cool).

The MOS Organizers are available at Apple stores and online at Amazon.com. Order one (or more!) and never worry again about where that darn iPod charging cord is.

Again, with the reasonable price, there are plenty of people I can imagine getting this little doo-hickey for as a Christmas present. But I think I might gift myself with one first!
