Kate Gosselin Will Not Be Home Alone For Christmas

It looks like there will be plenty of family fun at the Gosselin house this Christmas season. Kate Gosselin tells OMG! that although they typically spend Christmas Eve with their father, Jon Gosselin, this year they are letting the kids decide. “They’re at the age now where we ask them,” Kate tells omg!. “So they basically dictate it and they want to be home Christmas and the days surrounding it.”

Kate indicates she has had quite a bit of help from her twins, Mady and Cara, decorating the house for the holidays. On November 23, 2012 she tweeted:

Mady and Care were even allowed to set up a Christmas tree in the bedroom they share.  Kate shared this about the girl’s enthusiasm for the holidays:  “Mady and Cara are so cute; they shop for each other with their own money and they hide in the store from each other,” she says proudly. “They’re so fun just to take shopping because they genuinely really think through what the other wants.

The younger six are also quite enthused and have been making a list and checking it twice even though Kate says they don’t “do Santa.” Kate and the kids share the holiday spirit by participating in Toys For Tots. As Kate said of her children, “They cannot imagine kids that don’t have Christmas.”

And if life isn’t busy enough for Kate this holiday season, she is once again running in the Las Vegas Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon this coming Sunday. Last year she ran the full marathon but this year she opted on doing the half. She finds it nearly impossible to find time raising eight kids and training for a full marathon but does want to run a full marathon again. She is setting her sights on the New York City Marathon and hopes to have all of her kids there to watch her cross the finish line.

This Sunday as she runs in Vegas they will all follow Kate’s progress from home with text messages:  “They are lined up to get the text notifications [with the runners’ times], and that’s really exciting for them.”

Nice update. I am glad Jon and Kate can let the kids have a say in how they celebrate the holidays. I’m sure they’ll see him sometime.
The twins are at a great age, aren’t they?

I’m also glad Jon & Kate are letting the kids decide. Not surprised they want to be at their home for Christmas Eve & Christmas. They have a few weeks off so I’m sure they will see Jon.

“There is no place like home for Christmas.” I am happy that they are now spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Kate. There are plenty of days to visit with Jon. As they get older, they are going to spend less time with him.

I think that’s a mistake many divorced Dads make….not making a second home for the kids and just have them “visit”. Then when the kids get older they don’t want to camp out at Dad’s house anymore. Jon really needs to get it together. It makes me sad to think about it.

I don’t believe Kate G. at all and believe she is railroading them against their dad which is not right. Did you see that pic of the Decorations? That was pretty sparce and looked really cheap! She does not deny herself anything, that’s for sure, and tells the kids that if they want an expensive present, to not expect much more when she goes out and gets nothing but the very best for herself all the time. She’s a liar, a control freak, demeaning, which equals = She’s a Narciscisst! Let’s not forgot how terrible she always treated Jon. If I were him, I would have run away sooner! She’s a witch and only gets worse by the day. For goodness sakes, even her own family doesn’t keep in touch. She’s a sad person inside. very sad.

You have no proof she is “railroading” them against their Dad. I think he does a fine job of that himself. If she is so bad why did he “run” away and leave the children with her? He has said himself in interviews that she is a good Mother.

How do you know she doesn’t deny herself anything? People seem to base that on 2 year old pap shots of her getting a mani/pedi? She certainly doesn’t deny the kids a good education. I bet the tuition is upwards of 70 thousand a year for the 8 kids. I think it’s a pretty normal thing that if kids ask for expensive gifts (like electronics) they get fewer kids. Her money can’t be endless.

Why do people feel that Kate needs to tell them every little thing about her life. If she doesn’t she is branded a liar, if she does then people claim she is putting their lives on display and exposing every intimate detail of their lives. She can win with some people.

As for saying her decorations look cheap, I guess you’re saying that she denies herself expensive decorations?

I am glad the kids are able to decide where they want to be for the holidays.
Who knows, maybe Jon wanted to do something that took him out of town on the days surrounding Christmas.
I get the drift the twins haven’t been seeing as much of Jon as the littles do. They are coming into their teens and that can be difficult at times for any girl & either parent.
Kate sounded upbeat in the O M G interview tho.
So Kate runs tomorrow, I remember her saying 1/2 marathons were nothing but fun so I hope she enjoys herself.

Nancy Burian: “Christ”mas is not about expensive decorations or lots of gifts. Are you a Psychiatrist? Where did you receive your degree? In order to make the claims you have, you would need degrees in psychiatry and family counseling, and Kate would need to be your patient. Otherwise you a just stating your opinion, which I thoroughly disagree with. IMO

Thanks for the update. I haven’t had time to check Twitter much this week, so I’m a little out of the Gosselin loop! I think it’s wonderful that Kate allows the twins to decorate their own tree. I bet they have a lot of fun with that. From what Kate has shared, they really seem like well-adjusted and considerate young ladies. Most of the credit goes to Kate.
I can’t believe it’s been a year since that first marathon. Time flies. I think doing the NYC marathon with all her kids watching would be fantastic. Hope she can make that happen.

Why do I sense that Ms. Jenetta & HER 3 children’s visitation schedule ‘dictate’ changes in what WAS the norm for Jon & HIS children on Christmas eve?

Congratulations to Kate on her Las Vegas half marathon today. I would like to know how many miles the haters and criticizers ran today, and in what amount of time.

Does Jon even have a place of his own, or is he living with his new girlfriend? If he has his own place, last I heard he didn’t have electricity. Is it any wonder the kids want to stay at home?

As nice as it would be, I don’t expect that Jon will ever become a responsible parent.

Just got back from Vegas! We steered clear of the strip on marathon day. 45000 registered to run!! Plus the NFR was in town too. Way too much of a crowd for me. What we did see looked fun though. Met some runners on the plane, said it was a good time!

Not a fan of letting kids decide about custody stuff, but if both parties are in agreement then it must work for them.

I thought the decorations looked fine. Sometimes less is more!

Yes, it would be nice if the dad could have a mansion like the kids bought for Kate but she squeezed every last dime from him and that is impossible. I hope that in the end, the kids see Kate for what she is and write blockbuster tell alls about “mommie dearest”.
